These make fantastic teacher gifts. We originally bought one for ourselves, and after using it, ended up ordering more to give to teachers. It’s one of those gifts that’s actually practical — not something that ends up in a drawer. The light is bright without being harsh, and the adjustable brightness settings are helpful for different reading situations. It clips securely onto books and is lightweight enough that it doesn’t feel bulky. The rechargeable feature is a big plus. No worrying about replacing batteries, and it holds a charge well for multiple reading sessions. In our house, both the kids and I use ours regularly for reading in bed. The teachers we gifted them to also appreciated having something useful for grading papers, reading, or planning without turning on all the lights. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, affordable teacher gift that will actually get used, this is a great option.

I was raised by librarians so I have seen my fair share of book lights over the years and this is by far the best kind I have ever seen. I switched from book lights to Kindle Fire years ago because book lights are usually obnoxious. But instead of clipping this to a book, I just tuck it in my shirt collar and point it down at the crochet I am working on so now I can turn off the big dumb overhead light and binge watch my shows while I crochet in the dark. This is working fabulously as I had hoped. It seems to have a really decent battery life too because I have only charged it once so far. When the light starts getting dim that means you need to charge it. Please note that you have to pull the end off to find the USB charging bit. I posted a picture so hopefully that helps. Saw a lot of reviews say the light didn't last long but did they know they could just recharge it? Unless you read the product description well, you might have missed that feature and not known there is a USB jack hiding inside there. It is quite clever actually and I don't have to worry about losing another charging cord since it plugs right in like a flash drive would. It does glow quite a bit while charging so be mindful of that if you are charging on the night stand while you're trying to sleep. I couldn't tell if it was done charging, I just let it charge overnight and that seems to have worked. Also noteworthy is how the hinge between the light and the base that holds it up can open far beyond a 90 degree angle so you can set it down on a desk or something and shine the light out into a room. The light is small enough to carry in a pocket or purse. I will definitely be taking this with me on vacation to use on the plane and set on the nightstand in case I need a flashlight to get up in the middle of the night to potty. Would be great to take camping and easy to hang it off a string or branch. I expect to be giving a few of these as gifts throughout the year because they are really handy. I haven't had any issues with turning the light but I can see how a child might turn it too far and break it if they get forceful with it. Just teach them to be gentle and that the light is not meant to turn all the way around and you should be fine. Also love the color choices so I can have a light that is easy to find. Get a few more to keep them in multiple useful places. I wish it had a lower setting though, it only has bright and brighter, not a dim setting. Might be too bright for the person next to you.

This is a perfect piece to add to a book reading in the dark. The clip is strong and doesn’t feel like it will stretch to a new open size forever. I like that the light itself tips up and down, and left or right, depending on which side of the book you are reading, and if you are reading the top or bottom of a tall book. The light has two levels, and both of them are suiting to a dark room. After I turn off the light, I do not feel like my eyes need to adjust to the room. I have not tried the charging option yet, but having that element is definitely why I chose this one to order.

This bookmark is a nice little accessory for anyone who loves reading. It’s lightweight, fits perfectly between pages, and doesn’t damage the book or leave marks. I like the design—it’s simple but attractive, and it’s easy to spot when you open the book again. It also stays in place well and doesn’t slip out easily. On the downside, the material feels a bit thin, so I wouldn’t expect it to last forever if used daily. I also wish it were slightly sturdier for hardcover books. Overall, it’s affordable, practical, and does exactly what a bookmark should do.

This book light is fantastic! It provides enough light for reading in bed so as not to disturb my partner. It also works great in a darker living room to read while others are watching tv. I have not had to recharge the light since purchasing-the charge lasts a long time! There are two settings of light- brighter and more dim. The end of the light also tilts to adjust- very handy. I would highly recommend this light for any book lover!

Easy to use. Very effective light. This small, feather light weight light is perfect. I’m amazed at how flexible and easy I’m able to adjust the light beam with just a flick. It seems solid and sturdy. Of course the fact that it came in my favorite color shade, lilac, is a bonus.

This book light is of an excellent, well thought out design. It is exactly what I was looking for. First of all, and most importantly to me, it is rechargeable. Too often, with other book lights, the batteries run low, the light dims, and you find you are out of batteries and need to run to the store again, or the ones you have just lost their life. Plus there is the waste and impact to the environment with batteries. There is no need for that today anymore. With this you plug it via the built-in USB connector either into your laptop, or, by attaching your iPhone/smart phone etc wall adaptor (i.e. the "brick with the two prongs) directly into the wall. You can buy them separately if you don't have one. They are available cheap on Amazon, among others. You can do the recharging conveniently overnight and every night - and have a ready bright light for the next day. Secondly, I do like the light color. It is a soft white light with a warm yellow-ish glow. Easy and pleasant on the eye, no eye strain, yet bright enough, especially in its high setting. And with aforementioned rechargability you can afford the high setting in most situations. This was important to me as well - as a lower blue light fraction is better for long term eye health, and sleep as well ( a common issue with the blue light emitted by smart phone etc screens). Plus it is less disturbing to others too. Next, the design is sleek and paradigm shifting from the typical gooseneck clamp-on book-light designs. The clip to attach to your book is of a low profile, and easily slides onto the back of your hardcover, or just bunch a few of the last pages together in case of a soft cover book. This is a significant improvement over the bulky, rounded clamps that a lot of the gooseneck designs feature - mostly to accommodate the batteries - and which makes your pages bulge over them. The light angles in all directions - side to side, up and down, allowing good illumination of all pages, into even the lowest corners. It has a 90 degree roll in one direction, 270 degree in the opposite, given you full 360 degree rotation, should you ever need that. Finally, it folds up flat, and is thus easy to carry and perfect for travel. Stick it into your jacket pocket, or your carry on travel without a problem. Note this is really a book light to be clamped onto your book. If you are looking for something to camp onto your desk, headboard, armrest etc the gooseneck designs give you better flexibility. Somebody really thought this through - and it shows. A much needed and long overdue improvement over older designs, and more environmentally friendly along the way. Clever. I bought one for myself, and a few more as gifts for readers amongst family and friends.

Not a warm light as described

I'm pleased with this purchase. My partner doesn't like having the bedside lamp on at night, but this light works like magic! I can adjust the brightness, and the battery life is decent; I can get a few days of reading in before needing to recharge.

I was really confused as to which reading light to buy, being overwhelmed with lots of options on amazon, after doing some research and looking at multiple reviews I bought htis one and boy am I pleased, I will summarise the pros and cons for this light to save you time and effort Pros - compact and easiy to carry/with travel - slightly bigger than a usb, can be charged like a usb so very easy to use - two light modes, bright and less bright, no faff, no complicaitons, just easy 2 click funciton - Light quality is slightly warm as shown in photos, very easy to read - can be used as a bookmarkas has a clip to insert to hold the light to the book - the head of th elight is slightly adjustable - Really good if your partner is sensitive to light, as it narrows it to the book and not alot of light spills, my partner is very sensitive to light and she isnt disturbed by this. -sturdy and good build quality, feels good in hand - Is chargeable so dont have to worry about batteries Cons - When I ordered first, an empty box arrived, although amazion were quick to refund me money - other competitors have various light modes/ different warmths of light, it lacks that - cannot think of any other cons !
