What is the shelf life of the filters?

Thank you for your interest in our water purifier.

As long as you keep the filters in the bag they came in, away from sunlight and heat, these filters will last for at least 10 years. After the filters are installed in the AquaTru unit, the pre-filter will last up to 6 months, the VOC filter will last for up to 12 months, and the RO filter will last up to 24 months.

If the installed filters are unused for 3 months or longer, they need to be changed.

I love my system and have read that with Reverse Osmosis I should add mineral drops?

There is a misconception that the Reverse Osmosis process removes ALL minerals from water. AquaTru removes about 90% of minerals, but not all of them. You are still getting the "trace" amounts many people are interested in.

Most North Americans prefer water with a low TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) rating. We leave the option to add minerals open to the individual. Some people prefer low mineral water since it has the “cleanest” taste. If we automatically put minerals back in, we would be removing this option for those people. Both options are available according to individual preference.

People who are concerned about the low mineral content of filtered, purified water, add a few drops of mineral solution to their filtered water.

We offer Perfect Minerals, which come from the Great Salt Lake in Utah. Its nutrient-rich waters contain over 72 ionic minerals and trace elements that are 8-10 times more concentrated than regular seawater-in precisely the same proportion as healthy human fluids. The VOC filter, #4 lasts approximately 1 year.

Why doesnt this pack include the osmosis filter (blue stage 3)?

Typically in a year, the prefilter (yellow) will need to be changed every 6 months, the VOC filter (green) once a year. The ROC Blue filter is every 2years or 1200 gallons whichever comes first.
