Better than I expected. My Koi ponds (3) are crystal clear. I can see the fish. I recommend the Matala filters. They made my day. I talked to the company folks and they were great. Thanks for a great product. Frank de Cesare (And , after several years they still work GREAT. I don't know how I did without the Matala filter and the Matala filter material in my large pond. The Malala filters made it possible to actually enjoy my KOI.

We had to replace a sixteen year old filter in a hurry. Our previous system had been discontinued so we were hesitant to find a new system. This one is awesome. After five weeks, our 2800 gallon pond is still crystal clear. First time I have ever seen my hibernating koi. My only difficulty is how small the installation instructions were. Thank goodness for grandmas magnifying glass! 😀

I was really looking forward to using this filter on a small aquaculture tank. It seems well built, and is a nice small package for a filter system. This filter is rated to flow 1,060 GPH. Our 1,050 GPH pump, running at 4 ft of head (eg moving way less than the rated 1050gph) had to be turned down to 25% or it would overflow the filter.... And this was after using both top and bottom drains!! I'm sure it would do a good job of filtering a small pond with a small fish load. But this filter is not even capable of turning over a thousand gallon tank one time per hour. So we are boxing it up and getting it ready for the return. We will post an update regarding the experience with the seller, so far it has been a good one - they shipped fast!

The product is very well designed. Easy set up. And easy to clean. But if nothing else the customer service was by far the easiest o have dealt with.

Excellent filtration! My pond went from sludge to completely clear in about 10 days and has been clear ever since. The filter is quite large, so I decided to hide it behind ornamental grasses so it would not be visible. This did require an afternoon at the hardware store dealing with the fittings and hoses required to get the water from the filter return back into the pond, as those parts were not included. It was well worth the extra effort. My fish have been so much healthier with the cleaner water, that they actually spawned this summer and I have baby fish for the first time in a very long time.

Still in the process of building our water fall but I couldn't be happier with it- we purchased the fall attachment separately but within the 1st week we have already cleaned out the filter by removing the inserts- hosing off quickly and draining the filter from the bottom- took us 10 minutes tops. The amount of nasty water that has collected is mind blowing. Our pond is Cristal Clear- I couldnt be happier with this purchase. Its sturdy- its durable and the filters inside are great quality ( anyone tells you anything different- hasn't used it) AND.... check out the amount of water coming out into our fall- GORGEOUS 🥰 Cannot wait to finish our tiny swimming pond.

Biosteps 10 was a great addition to my Koi Pond. Although, my filtration system was already overboard, I decided to expand because of my heavy fish load. Well, let me tell you this system coupled with the Matala Pads improved my water quality even better, water is clearer and water parameters are much more stable because of the awesome biological pads. The only drawback for myself, was that the product had some leaks even with the provided seals and also, this system is a gravity type where you can't hook up water circulator jets.
