Thule to the rescue!
Just picked up an old Yakima Space Booster. Pretty much missing the support hinges and the locking mechanisms and the UBolts. Hey what can you expect for $20 bucks. Couldnโt find the Yakima support hinges and found that regular shocks could fix the problem either. Took a chance with these and they work perfectly. Yes they are plastic and com one to an order. Both mine were gone so I had to get two. They fit in both sides. I placed mine so that the bends face the opening of the box. Would never purchase a new storage box but for the price I could not pass this one. Thanks Thule! Now what can I do for the locking mechanism? Using straps for now. lol

Perfect replacement part
Perfect fit for my Thule cartop carrier. I don't know the model name, but the part number for my carrier is 8523402001. Took about fifteen minutes to replace the broken hinge. Use an Allen wrench to unscrew the hinge, then use a flathead screwdriver or pliers to pry the metal insert out of the old hinge, then use channel locks to press the metal part into the new hinge and screw the hinge on using the same Allen wrench. Like new!

Skeptical at first. Then I put it on and it works perfect.
I have the Thule Motion XT XXL. This worked perfectly. For a box that costs $900 you'd think these would last longer. I was so happy to find this part and replace it with ease. I tried to replace it while still on my vehicle and was not able to. I took the box off my vehicle and leaned it up against a wall and used a rubber mallet to put both ends on. The top part swivels by the way, the bottom does not.

Spot on replacement for SportRack cargo box
This part was EXACTLY what I needed to fix my SportRack cargo box after I overpacked it one camping trip and broke one of two of these. It does take some brute force to remove the old part but thankfully you are likely replacing it because it is broken so no need to be too careful. To reinstall this part however, you definitely need a pair of channel locks to squeeze the metal bracket to the peg and get the plastic hole to click in place on the top and bottom pegs

Perfect fit! Thule Motion XT Alpine
No instructions, but you don't need any. Equally strong and comparable to original. 2 tools Flathead screw driver C-clamp (3 dollars from harbor freight) Use the flat head to remove the old lifter/hinge. Just insert (between lifter and where it pops into) and twist the screwdriver and it'll pop off. Next position the lifter on the mounting point, position the c-clamp on it and on the shell of the roofbox, and tighten the c clamp until it pops on. I used a microfiber towel between the clamp and the shell. Good as new.

It Works, But Not Without a Fight
I bought this replacement hinge for my Thule roof box after one of the original ones finally gave up the ghost. I'll give them credit, the new hinge is a perfect fit and seems to be of the same high quality as the original. It opens and closes smoothly, and my cargo box is now back to its full, functional glory. However, the installation process was a lot more difficult than I anticipated. Getting the old hinge off was a battle of wills that I almost lost. I felt like I needed a specialized tool that doesn't exist just to pop it off the ball joint. I spent a good 20 minutes sweating and muttering to myself before I finally got it to budge. The instructions were... a little sparse, so I ended up watching a few online tutorials, and it seems like this is a common struggle. So, while the product itself is excellent and does exactly what it's supposed to, the installation process knocked a star off for the sheer amount of frustration it caused. Be prepared for a wrestling match with your roof box, but know that the end result is worth it.

works for sears cargo carrier
One size of my sears cargo carrier kept popping off so I bought this to replace it. Getting the old one off and this one on required the use of some tools (I'm a gal without a lot of upper body strength) but the replacement works amazing. Now my cargo carrier is working like new again

Worked like a charm
Replaced my mercedes lifters with these. Used a ratcheting clamp to snap them onto the ball joints. Now my cargo carrier does not fall on me.

Easy Peasy
Have a big Force Thule box - not 100% sure of the model. But this arm fit perfectly. Old hinge removal with flathead screw driver and put the new one in with a channel lock wrench for the lid and a c-clamp with a small wood block for the bottom. Done in 5 min.

Works perfectly !
I purchased because one of my lifter was snapping off the bracket easily and the second one was becoming weaker. These fit perfectly and are strong. I installed them on my Thule Atlantis 1600 but they would fit on almost any 2 sided box from Thule.

Fixes a 25 year old Thule box of similar shape
Works well to fix a 25 year old Thule box. Use an adjustable C clamp and a blow dryer to soften up the plastic endings before fitting on the box.
