Yes, they are washable. I have had 3 pairs of WHITE ones over the years and I washed them regularly. I dried them briefly in a COOL dryer and then let them finish drying in the open air. I love these slippers - that is why I am on my 3rd pair. I wear them until I wear them out.

Is the top with velcro to adjust for width?

To a certain point. If the Velcro is adjusted too far, then the Velcro will not hold the shoe on when walking. If you think the shoe may be too tight, I suggest the next size up. Something to consider.

Will these work for narrow feet?

I have a narrow foot. I have found that these vary some in the spacing and success of the velcro closure, success meaning that some i can keep these from flying off my feet. Some close tightly enough and some don't. This was true even when I ordered 'down', 8-9 instead of 9-10--I wear a 9 1/2 narrow.

What size should i get if i usually wear 7.5-8 in normal shoes?

I believe there is a size that's 7.5-8... You could go with that, if you wear an 8.5 in any brand/type of shoe, is recommend getting the 8-8.5. But if you're always a 7.5-8 that should be fine!
