Built a new computer with this. Including CPU, memory installation and all other requisite tasks. I always periodically ground on the plugged-in metal case housing anyway, but after spending nearly $700 on a CPU this wrist strap provided nice peace of mind while working. I appreciate the reviews where people who pointed out naysayers and their error regarding continuity. Jeez, you would think people placing a one star review would know something about the relevant subject before so thoughtlessly defamating a product. If not for them, I would not have bothered to put this 5 star review on such a low cost item. Figured it was only fair. I would recommend this item to anybody considering building a computer.

These are the best wrist straps ever made! I have been buying wrist straps since the 80's at work. I got this one to keep near my computers in the Winter months. But this is definitely the top of high art! I just wish I had these back before the old days when I had to order 100's of those blue Velcro ones......

I just bought it for peace of mind while doing my first PC build, and well not much to say other than it works(my friend tested it or whatever) and is very affordable. The only thing I disliked was it didn't stretch too well while putting my computer together. The wristband part is stretchy too so if you are chubby like me no worries. The red looks cool too prefer it to the yellow and light blue ones aesthetic wise lol.

It's nothing fancy but it does as described and for the price, you can't beat it.

I've looked at the reviews for this and many other grounding wrist straps, and I see a great many complaints about not seeing continuity between the snap at the end of the cord and the alligator clip at the other end. That's because there isn't supposed to be "continuity". Continuity is a perfectly complete circuit, with no resistance to the flow of current, other than the diameter of the wire used. The reason continuity tests fail, is because grounding straps have a 1 meg Ω resistor in series, to prevent shocks & provide a slower discharge of static from the body. It may also help limit shocks to non lethal, if live wires are accidentally touched. But, personally, I wouldn't want to count on that!

These are nice quality and they don’t pinch skin at all or hair very much. Just be aware that they are entirely metal. In some workplaces, any metal bracelet is not allowed because of the risk of shorting to some live contact. The coiled cord they come with is typical. It loosens up a bit with use. The snap fastener is standard so you can replace the cord if necessary. If you can’t get a good ground connection using this bracelet, nothing else will work better.

I bought this because I kept getting shocked like the dickens every time I walked on my treadmill and touched the treadmill arms. I clipped the alligator clip side to treadmill frame, other side around my wrist, 100% completely stopped the shocks from happening. I didn't even have to adjust the wrist strap.

I was getting shocked using my treadmill every time I touched the metal parts. I was told to get this anti static bracelet on Amazon. I was extremely skeptical , but it works. No more shocks. I attached it to a metal part on the treadmill and wear the bracelet.

This is a quality ESD protection wrist strap. Ignore the reviews that mention that there is no metal plate behind the clasp. Unfortunately those reviewers have only seen the cheap type that have a skin contact connection on the clasp only. Proper straps, like this one, have conductive strands sewn into the entire elastic strap. I work for a large telecoms company and this is the type that we use.
