There are two major ways to consistently make money in the market: 1) Hunt for several huge winners in a year. Build large positions in them and ride them for monstrous gains. 2) Hunt for hundreds of 5% to 30% short-term winners, where the goal is to compound capital quickly by actively moving in and out of them. There is not right or wrong approach here. Both have place in the arsenal of each active market participant. Everything comes at a price. If you want to catch a 200% to 300% long-term winner, you have to be willing to sit through multiple consolidations and several bigger than 30% pullbacks. Not everyone has the stomach to ride big stock market gainers, but maybe you donโt have to. If you sell all your winners, when they are up 20%, you will never catch a double or a triple. Fact. What is also true is that in any given year, there are a lot more 20% moves than 100% moves. If you learn how to catch hundreds of quick 5% to 20% moves, your capital could appreciate very quickly while you keep you keep the drawdown in your account to a minimum. Swing trading is among the fastest way to grow capital if you learn how to properly apply its principles. Swing trading is all about velocity and opportunity cost of capital. The goal is to stay in stocks that are moving quickly in our favor and avoid โdead moneyโ periods. Stocks move in 5% to 30% momentum bursts that last between 2 and 10 days, before they mean-revert or go into sideways consolidation. The goal of every swing trader is to capture a portion of a short-term momentum burst, while avoiding consolidation periods. Then to repeat the same process hundreds of times in the year by risking between 0.5% and 1% of capital per idea. The beauty of swing trading is that it provides many signals. You donโt need to risk a lot per signal. You wonโt second-guess yourself whether to take a signal or not. One trade is not going to make your year or your month, but it also wonโt ruin it. It relies on the magic of compounding. The idea is to grow capital quickly by being leveraged to the hill during favorable periods and being mostly in cash during unfavorable periods. I know that if you apply the principles I describe in this book, you will become more knowledgeable, more profitable and happier market participant. Here is a brief overview of what you could expect to learn: 1) What drives short-term market moves? How to recognize perfect swing setups; when to buy them and where to put your stop losses. 2) When to sell and how. 3) How to be more profitable. How to improve your success rate and where to hunt for big short-term gainers. 4) How to manage risk properly. How to decide how many shares you should buy of every stock you like. How to check if you have an edge in the market. 5) How and why to time your market exposure. The paper version of the book is super thin, because of its huge dimensions of 8"x10". 84 pages with about 30 colored charts with annotations. Letters size is 14 with 1.5 spacing. It could be read in one sitting. There is no fluff. Only practical, actionable information that could be applied right away. Here are some brief reviews from Twitter and StockTwits: @BarbarianCap ยท I read @ivanhoff swing trading ebook. A must-read for trades and investors interested in what others do. @BarbarianCap In the book @ivanhoff lists his screens with lots of chart case studies; sizing; judging the health of the market, etc. Good stuff. @BrattleStCap: Ordered @ivanhoff book on swing trading last night, well worth the $10, great primer/refresher for anyone who ever puts on short-term trades. Review: Loved the book - Loved the book. I've been learning to swing trade for a couple of years and I've read many of the well-known and recommended trading books, but this is my favorite. I'm not a member of Social Leverage 50.com (yet) but I've followed Mr. Ivanov on StockTwits and I have learned a lot from his blog. Another bonus to reading his daily posts is his great sense of humor. Mr. Ivanov has a talent for explaining trading concepts in an interesting and concise way. In the book, he tells you how to find the best swing setups, when to buy and when to sell. He explains risk/reward in a way I can finally understand. One thing I really liked was the way he illustrated breakouts by showing charts of stocks that have broken out very recently. This isn't a long book, but it doesn't need to be because it isn't filled with stories (or fluff as another reviewer said), it's packed with valuable information that can make you a successful swing trader. I intend to read it again soon, and refer to it in the future. Review: Good book - The book outlines a viable approach to swing trading but is not particularly well written. Could be a little more systematic and detailed about precise entries and exits and could put a little more into discussing risk management.

Swing Trade Sweet Chariot
So, I am NOT living the dream; but at least I can dream the dream. Unlike so many helpful reviewers before me, I'm not really playing the market. Therefore, I can't tell you just how this book adds or detracts from my nonexistent stock market profits and losses. So just then upon what do I base my review and rating? In essence, where am I coming from? Only this: does the book tell me exactly what to do? Does this book or any book like it give me the secret sauce recipe, the system to follow, the step-by-step check list method to stock market success? Or does the book merely recite vague feel good advice without providing a useful or followable strategy? I am rating this book highly, because the author provides the reader with a nearly exact system to follow. In other words, the author shares his secret sauce with us. From the first page of chapter one we are rewarded with the start of a checklist regarding "What is a Perfect Swing Setup?", e.g., item 2: "Near 10-day high (within 3% of it)". The author provides us with eight such criteria (presented in big print) followed by example charts and explanations. This is a short book with many chart examples and printed with a large font size. It should not take too long to read. Will you make money by following it? Beats me. But if you find yourself with some toss into the ring $$ and some good to go guts, then this book provides a quick turn-key & out of the box approach to making trades.

Good but nothing new
Maybe Iโve simply read too many books on trading idk, but this book is regurgitation of whatโs available in many books on trading. Iโm not suggesting Ivaylo didnโt use his own personal experience and methodologies but from an avid readers perspective it didnโt add anything to my arsenal of trading. For a new trader who knows little, it maybe beneficial. IMO, the formula for finding potential runners is missing the price action component, that is bar patterns, volume etc.. Iโve found that itโs as important in real day to day trading.

great advice for swing traders
This is a great explanation of swing trading and gives real, actionable advice to the reader. I am also a trader and it's easy to tell he knows how to trade and is not just a pundit. I love swing trading because it doesn't require you to sit in front of your charts all day like day trading but it still requires work. This book will give you good ideas on some of he steps and actions to take when looking for good swing trading setups as well as good money management.

Learned a Few things
I've read over 100 trading books and I always learn something. I especially like the simple, straight forward explanations in this book. Trading is not that hard. Too many authors seem to have the objective of making themselves seem smart rather than keeping it simple. For example, when a stock has an expanded range day on large volume and closes far below the high of the day, near the low of the day, it's an indication of momentum loss. A good time for a swing trader to take some profits & tighten the stop. Simple & sensible.

Be aware...
Way too short. A "booklet" where the real purpose is to promote his website. The trading experience of the author is obvious but leaves me perplexe about the real goal of this tiny booklet since this advice is known by everyone on the stock market.! Not worth 10.00$

Great for timing Entry and Exits
This book has helped me advance my entries and exits from the markets. Ivan explains his setups in an easy and concise manner. Have been through it 3 times (it only takes and hour) and have taken some invaluable points from the book.
