Don’t let the low price fool you this is sturdy, well-made and very accurate. My buddy had a military grade right alongside me and they were equal and always.. everyone should have a Compass and know how to use it and the corresponding maps in your area. Just in case.

THIS compass is an amazing device. I've owned other lensatic units before, but none that show the heading as clearly as this one. Simply aim and look into the lens to see your bearing. It's that simple. Also, the straight edge allows this compass to be placed on a map to plot paths easily when navigating over land. This can also be used in some cases for navigation on water if you have land references that are visible. I've even used this to triangulate AM radio sources on a map for position fix.The solid body of the compass is top notch while the lens can be focused to your particular vision, making reading the bearing effortless. It looks to be a version of some form of military compass, or at least to have military DNA.I've also taken it out with a map of the city and taken bearings on cross referenced buildings in relation to each other and found that the thing is quite accurate.You will have to pre-charge the glow in the dark components of the dial, but the glow seems to last reasonably long. Remember that even though it fades over time, you night vision will increase as time goes on, so the time is decent before you have to charge it up again with a flashlight.The dial is good as well. if you hold it level, the oil within it will allow it to float effortlessly to magnetic north without waggling around.Overall, I would say that this compass has a good home in both my hiking tool bag as well as my boat bag. It's a very good fall-back or even a main compass depending on the situation. At its current price, you cant go wrong. The inclinometer is also a neat feature and the needle moves freely as long as it is level. I haven't really had a chance to use it in practice yet, but I plan to do a full YouTube Review of this when I get the next chance to go hiking and or sailing with it.

Solid metal casing, extremely easy to use and read, reliable, small - checks every box I had for a portable reliable compass. As an aside, I am a private pilot and wanted/needed a SOLID strong reliable backup compass for a potential total power loss as well as for survival tool in case of forced landing. Truly ideal.

Well made but much heavier than expected. Would love to see one in titanium.Has all the functionality just know it's no light weight.

I got this for my son-in-law for Christmas. He is an avid hunter. His previos compass broke. He loves this one. He can also use it on his rifle. He says it's the best one he has ever had. I don't pretend to know a lot about hunting, but I can only go by what he tells me. In his words, "it's a win with this one"!

For very little cash you get a very well made compass. The bezel is smith the inclination meter is a great touch. Robust build. After playing with it it’s accurate. Well worth the cash.
