Lenovo 0B47089 Display Cable, 7.9", for ThinkPad T431s, T530, W550s

This is the right adapter to connect a Lenovo laptop (e.g. a Thinkpad X250) with an mDP output to an HDMI 2.0 display, if you care about resolutions higher than 1920x1080. You don't want an "active" adapter (e.g. the Plugable Active mDP to HDMI 2.0 adapter Plugable Active Mini DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 Adapter (Supports displays up to 4k / UHD / 3840x2160@60Hz) , and the Club3D CAC-1170 Club3D Mini Displayport 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 UHD (CAC-1170) ). Both of the "active" adapters appear to the laptop like an mDP device, and neither one seems to let the X250 successfully send video to an HDMI 2.0 television at resolutions higher than 1920x1080. I tested with two HDMI 2.0 displays -- a Vizio M75-C1 and a Panasonic 65AX800. I got the same result on each. By contrast, this Lenovo adapter appears to the laptop like an HDMI passthrough device, and *did* successfully allow the Lenovo laptop to send 3840x2160x30 video to both displays. (The X250 tops out at 30Hz for 3840x2160 video, even on its own mDP output, so I wasn't able to test anything at 3840x2160x60.) To make the story worse, this is *not* the right adapter for connecting a 2011 MacBook Pro that only has a Thunderbolt port to an HDMI 2.0 display at UHD resolution. In that case, you *do* want one of the "active" adapters, since the Mac is limited to 1920x1080 in HDMI mode (which is what it gets from the Lenovo adapter), but with an actual mDP device, the Mac can do 3840x2160x30. All three adapters (the Lenovo, Plugable, and Club3D) worked fine for 1920x1080 and below in all the situations I tested.

Works as advertised. Just remember to follow the directions. Plug it into the HDMI cable that is attached to the A/V, THEN plug it into your laptop. I keep it in my bag to plug into A/V at school.

This worked great until 14 days after the return window closed. Then it stopped working entirely and now I can't return it. Guess I'm screwed. Future orders will go to a vendor who protects me from defective merchandise like this.

I did not want to take my chances, so I bought the original cable by Lenovo. It performed as expected and as advertised. Hence, no complaints. Just the price is a bit on the steep side. But I guess that’s what it sometimes takes, if you don’t want to deal with cheaper knockoffs and their side effects.

Für den Anschluss mittels HDMI-Kabel habe ich mir für mein MacBook diesen Adapter geholt, nachdem mein bisheriges MiniDisplayPort-HDMI-Kabel aufgrund von Wackelkontakten nicht mehr zu gebrauchen ist. HDMI-Kabel sind i.d.R. vorhanden, sodass grade beim mobilen Einsatz dieser kleine Adapter vollkommen ausreicht. Der Anschluss klappt top! Nichts wackelt oder klemmt, die Übertragung läuft einwandfrei! Absolute Weiterempfehlung!
