Well well, I purchased this projector after returning a competitors brand that just would not work. Period. I admit, I am not tech savvy. However, this projector is so easy to use and set-up. Seriously. I did it myself in no time. I am an amateur cookie decorator and that’s all I will use it for, but it does the job. I did not have any cookies to decorate for a bit, but I went to use it and thought it might be tricky to get reacquainted with, not at all. Fully charged, and still connected to iPad. Mirrored my screen and 5 minutes later BRAVO!

So far I’ve had this projector for a few months. I’ve found it EXTREMELY useful since we have all sorts of different rooms in my house, and we like to change locations where we chill for the evening. I use it for displaying my workouts (Ring Fit and Yoga) and occasionally gaming, and on a few circumstances as a monitor for my computer. A few things I would recommend: make sure you have the right lighting. During the daytime, I found that reducing sunlight was best when projecting on a darker painted wall. On a lighter painted wall, I was able to see the image just fine with a room that was lit with afternoon light, but not pouring with bright sunlight. White background is ideal. It also depended on the device I used and what the image contained. Animal Crossing: New Horizons, while playing in the daytime mode in the game and in a darker room, was great. Playing anytime during the nighttime mode was a little tougher to see. Some games that required you to read smaller text, like Don’t Starve, weren’t as successful because certain texts became harder to read on the projector. I’ve used all sorts of different devices via the HDMI connection (even PS2, GameCube, and Wii) and had fun briefly displaying them with success, but haven’t done full gaming experiences with them just yet. I found that overall, displaying bigger text is ideal for the projector. The HDMI connection is the best mode of connection, in my opinion. I tried the AirPlay mode once or twice and both times needed to set up the internet and haven’t done it again since then. As a portable battery and its travel size, I also like it a TON. I've used it on different kinds of tripods as well. When I rated this, I wanted to give more of a 4.5 overall because of its usefulness, its travel size, and...well, it's really cool to have a pocket projector that's the size of my iPhone. However, my standards for picture quality are not as high as others. If you buy, just be aware of what to expect. It works best under certain conditions and with certain images. My boyfriend is a photographer and video editor, so his standards for display quality are VERY high (always wanting to see movies in IMAX or 4K, looking at quality of the picture, etc.), so he would personally not use this projector as much as I do. It had its moments of imperfections, which I think generally are meant for an actual television screen, and those imperfections are forgivable for the other nifty things it's capable of. It's definitely useful in situations where you don't want to lug an entire television down the stairs or to different rooms if you want changes of scenery in the house or need to travel to a different location outside of the house and can't plug into a display of the sort wherever you end up. This purchase will definitely depend on your preferences and how much you think you will end up using the pocket projector. For how often I use it, I think I've made it worth its price.

So I bought this projector as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend. She likes to draw and paint water colors, but sometimes has a hard time transcribing a digital image to paper. This little projector is AWESOME for that that. Its a DLP projector meaning it can focus at any distance, which is great for artistry purposes. She can attach it to her desk (just uses regular camera attachments) and adjust the height to scale her image. She loves it for that. We've also used it for movies, and there are parts of it that are great! We do a movie night in our front yard, and across the street is a new SUPER bright streetlamp. This little guy is able to compete with it and we get great picture out of it even with the streetlamp on. It's self leveling, and a really easy to use interface. The one minor drawback is that the sound that comes out of it isn't quite loud enough to hear very well if your ~10 ft away. I'm sure its a result of not having a whole lot of space for large sound drivers in such a small package. We wished it had a bluetooth capability so we could connect it to our bluetooth speakers that we have around our yard. It does have an Aux output so that you can put a speaker right next to and connect them with a cord for added audio and that solves most of the problem. Another minor drawback is that the controller can be a little finicky trying to send your clicks if you're not at the right angles, but it just takes some figuring out. Other than the sound, we love this little speaker!

I am writing this review in regards to my AKASO mini projector. I have utilized this product for the past 6 months or so and I absolutely love it. I purchased this projector after having many many issues with the infamous "mini white pico projector" (not sure of the brand name), which is well known in the baking community, and I do not recommend because of the many issues I have endured. However, I HIGHLY recommend this AKASO projector for all of your baking and decorating needs when it comes to needing a projector for custom desserts. Here are a few reasons why: 1. The battery life is AMAZING. It lasts me HOURS before I need to re-charge it. And when the time comes to charge, it takes less than an hour to fully re-charge! AH-MAZING. I can get all of my custom decorated baked goods done confidently knowing this projector is reliable. (I honestly may even purchase a second one soon just because!) 2. BLUETOOTH. I absolutely love not having to purchase extra cords and have the annoyance of entanglement on my workbench/desk. I love that I can easily connect my phone or Ipad without plugging anything in! 3. The projector also comes with a remote which works great and is very useful so I don't have to keep taking my projector off the stand every time I need to turn it on/off or select something on the menu. 4. Lastly this projector is very user friendly. I am not very tech-savy and the manual is very easy to understand. The projector is very easy to use. It took me less than 30 minutes to learn the device inside and out. The only reason I gave this review a 4 instead of a 5 stars is because of the image quality. I use a lot of small detailed fonts/images on my decorated cookies. The only beef I have with the projector is I wish it had a clearer image for tiny detailed images and fonts. It seems the smaller the image the more pixilated the image becomes. Other than that it is awesome, and again its nothing too serious that keeps me from executing my custom cookie orders. I highly recommend and I would 100% purchase again.

UPDATE: Very good customer service! Seller reached out to ensure customer satisfaction and sent a replacement. The new unit comes with USB-C port. However, do note that it only takes USB-A to USB-C charging, not USB-C to USB-C charging. HDMI cable is still required to project from laptop. Image is good. Sharpness is good for the price. Color is popping! Sound is just a tiny bit out of synch over HDMI, but that's quite normal for most projectors. I bought this because the ad states it’s updated to USB-C charging, but my unit *was not (see updated note above)

I've spent well over an hour trying to get the projector to recognize my wifi and pair to my phone (I tried all methods), and it's been a frustrating waste of my time. Time I won't get back. The remote control is INSANELY unresponsive with it's lag time (nowadays who has to deal with remote lag time??) And the instructions are borderline foolish. Case in point, if you own an iPhone it tells you to go to "Management" in settings to pair. THERE IS NO TAB IN AN iPHONE THAT IS "MANAGEMENT!" Seriously? I am very tech savvy and my home has a powerful mesh network. THERE IS NO REASON WHY IT SHOULD BE SO DIFFICULT TO GET THIS PROJECTOR TO WORK! UPDATE: Because of the issues that I had with the first one, I purchased a second. I really wanted to make this work. Sadly, the problems were exactly the same. I spent yet another hour+ on Apple's website and other forums to try to get this unit to pair to my phone. I have a high-quality mesh network and an iPhone 14 with the latest software. Still no success. So I tried the micro SD and USB options. As per the pathetic instructions, I used a micro card no greater than 32GB, and a USB 2.0 thumbdrive. All I wanted to do was to project simple photo album pictures, nothing complicated, just basic jpgs. Although I was able to get the AKASO projector to recognize my drives, more often than not, the unit froze up for no reason and had to be rebooted. This happened almost EVERY TIME I tried to get the unit to do basic operations. To add further insult, I found the remote control to be basically useless (on both units). I used new, fresh batteries but the remotes would "hang up." It takes several seconds, sometimes 20-30 or more, for the AKASO projector to recognize the command from the remote. Seriously? 20-30 seconds to perform the command? In 2024? And then when it does, it freezes up. Every time. For some, that might be OK, IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR BUTTON PRESS WILL DO. But because this company does not provide instructions, you have no idea what the icons on the remote are for. So you press a button and wait....and wait...and then press another button, not knowing what will happen....and then it freezes on you and you have to reboot. Couple this with the fact the you get ZERO customer support, I am done with AKASO. I can forgive problems with one unit, but not two. That's too much of a coincidence. That's a company systemic problem. I will ask for a refund and and try another, similar product on Amazon. I am confident that there are better products out there with better Customer Support.

Update, Do to my review a long time ago the seller sent me a replacement to make it right. Thank you. However and while very grateful sending me another without me asking, I’m afraid the exact same model will still fare the same results. I like the projector but it just won’t work for my purposes. I am still looking for a projector that will project to the ceiling that can be focused and scaled on the projector itself. Do to the gesture I am giving the seller back to 5 stars (was 2). I now do not like this at all. Something drains the battery. Unplugged with no attachments the battery is dead in 4 days just sitting there. Connecting is not that bad after you get used to it. Connecting via HDMI is very easy. While the picture quality is fairly good I didnt buy this to watch movies. I wanted something to cast an image to the ceiling which it does not do. The projection is scued meaning 1 part wide x 10 parts long, squished not squared like a upside down “V. Next you get a bigger picture by moving your projector farther and farther away from the screen. Next the focus is real touchy, you need to adjust in very small amounts.

I wish I had purchased this projector sooner. It is a game changer for decorating cookies. Here are my pros vs cons: Pros: Small, compact design. It is just about the same size as my iPhone. Nice clear picture. Fairly easy to navigate. No extra adapters or cords needed. It came with an HDMI cable to hook up to my laptop and the USB charger works perfect with connecting to my iPhone. Works great as a movie projector too! I’ve been able to stream videos from Netflix and Prime Video with no issues. Cons: Battery life is terrible. I’ve tried using it twice without it plugged into the charger and was only able to use it for about 30 minutes before the low battery warning popped up. I have not been able to figure out how to wirelessly connect to my iPhone. It does not appear to be compatible. The instruction manual references IOS 11 but we are currently on IOS 14.4 so the instructions are out of date. I wish the control buttons were on top of the unit opposed to on the side. When I put it in my overhead tripod to decorate cookies, the clip covers and presses the buttons. The max speaker volume is very low and hard to hear. The remote seems somewhat finicky but I honestly haven’t tried using it much. All in all this has been one of my favorite recent purchases. I highly recommend this projector. Update: I have had this projector for just under a year and it stopped working correctly a few months ago. It will not stay on and constantly shuts itself off. It is extremely frustrating when I have large orders that need completed. I originally bought this to save time but it’s doing anything but that right now. I am extremely disappointed.

Product shipped in great condition. Just reading through the manual and learning about it but so far projecting onto a surface the image looks sharp and crisp. Multiple ways to set up connectivity to my iPhone. Looking forward to using this projector!

This projector is compact, sleek and easy to use, good for office presentation and home use. Only connectivity was a problem and pairing often does not happen. 1star i have reserved only and only due to connectivity issue, otherwise 5 star product. After sale support from the vendor (Blumaple llp) was beyond expectations. They attended all calls and ensured that issue has been addressed and processed the refund without any if’s and but’s. Meanwhile I was going through the website and they got some really good products showcased. Looking forward to shop further. Thanks
