Do not be fooled, this is a very good product and works perfectly. Do not believe every review you read......
Just like you, I was very skeptical of this bar due to the price. Still, after reading several credible reviews I decided to give it a try. Like anything else for an RV you can spend as much money as you want and in the end you feel like you made a bad choice. I pull a 2000 Chevy Tracker behind my 40 foot Class A and just did not like the idea of spending over a thousand dollars on a blue ox tow bar and tow plate. I decided that I would give this bar a change and if it did not work for me I would be out the hundred dollars but if it did work for me I would save several hundred. The bar works perfectly and the free magnetic lights work very well also. My Towed weighs just under 3000 pounds and is a 2000 Chevy Tracker 4X4. This bar needs to be removed when you have reached a destination before driving the Towed. If you cannot manage 50 pounds you will need to have someone with you to help hook up and detach. If you want a tow bar that stays attached to your towed at all times, its a 900 dollar option from Blue Ox. :-)

You get what you pay for.
I used this on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. A lot of drilling required and had to remove the front bumper. It feels extremely cheaply made. The towing vehicle was an F-350, I purchased it because it was cheaper than getting a U-Haul trailer. The lights were extremely dim, but they never fell off. So it’s a pain to install, really inexpensive, and I made the trip with no issues.

2000+ miles flat tow and well worth it.
I just completed my first flat tow experience on a 2000+ mile trip towing a 1999 Jeep Wrangler from: SLC - Mt. Hood - Cannon Beach - HW 101 down the Oregon coast to the Redwoods - across Northern California - Tahoe and Northern Nevada - back to SLC. I never had a single problem the whole way. I added a thicker chain to be on the safe side. Would I replace this with a Blue Ox? Sure down the road but for now it meet my needs. However, I would only recommend this on Jeep Wrangler with the full metal front bumpers.

Amazing!
This was the best idea I ever had! Towed my Jeep 2200 miles across country in pouring rain and snow. It was like it wasn’t even behind us. Highly recommend. Installation too about an hour if you know what you’re doing. Make sure you look up which gears to put it in while towing or you could burn up your transmission. Don’t just tow it in neutral.

Do not buy this product. it is un-safe for cross country travel Upgrade if you can.
Tow-bar arrived in new un-opened box. upon inspection, the nuts and bolts were rusted and corroded.. the latch assembly was not complete and would not lock onto a 2" ball. Washers and locknuts were missing also. Some of the parts were Metric and others SAE, but of low quality. The best part of the story is the Seller giving an immediate refund on the purchase. I will buy from them again, just not this tow-bar..

Pulled my Tracker all the way to Arizona and back..
This tow bar performed excellent!! It towed my Tracker all the way to Arizona, and back (4800 miles). Very easy to hook-up and to unhook. Pulls your vehicle straight down the road with no sway... Great tow bar for the money!! Would definitely recommend to others...

This works with caution
I used this towbar to tow my jeep from Utah to Florida. It worked though over the long trip it started to break down and was barely safe on my arrival. One screw that held a tow arm broke off on the last 100 miles and I was constantly pulling over to tighten screws. More than once a bolt was close to falling out when I pulled over. One chain that came with the tow bar ripped apart in the rocky mountains. I wouldn't buy this one again and will spend more money to have a safer tow and more peace of mind. The only reason I feel compelled to leave a three star review is that it worked even if it almost didn't at the end. Do not buy this with out getting more chains. The Tow bar has four spots to add a safety chain, i originally only added two because of other reviews but after seeing the chains that came with the tow bar I went and got another chain at a store. I still used the orginal chains and it was one of those that broke.

So Far, So good!
OK, product arrived today in good condition. I installed it, it probably took me 3 hours because I took my time. I had to drill some new holes in the bumper of the towed vehicle (Jeep Wrangler) but I knew that before starting. The directions were straight forward (although small print). I did fab some brackets for the magnetic tow lights, which added some time to the install. I'm happy with the product and happy with the install. Tomorrow I'm going to hook the Jeep up to my truck (towing vehicle, F250) and run around town a bit. I'm happy with this kit so far as it comes with all the hardware needed and the magnetic mount tow lights. I'll update this review after I get some miles on it. 12/12/15 Update Hooked the Jeep to the truck today to test out the setup. No issues with the hookup, plenty of wire for the magnetic lights, plenty of safety chain. Towed in traffic and on the freeway (70mph) with no problems whatsoever, a total of less than 10 miles. I can feel the Jeep back there when accelerating, but not turning, braking or at steady speed. I'm not sure what I was expected to do with those loops that are in the towing vehicle end of the safety chain. I just put the chain through the chain holes in the trailer hitch on the truck and then fixed it back on itself using (2) Blue Hawk Quick Links (look it up on lowes.com). A couple of additional things to make this easier, get some velcro "zip ties" to secure the light wires to the tow bar (easy on/easy off) and a small tool pouch/box to store the magnetic lights when not in use. We have a 200 mile trip coming up where we are going to use this setup, I'll update again after. Happy towing Mater!

The package was as advertised, and we have no bad things to say about the quality or contents. the shipping cost was unecessarily bloated, but everything else about the entire package is fully usable for towbar towing of our thirty-five hundred pound vehicle. The add says it can handle a load of 5000 pounds, and I am not one to push anything to its absolute limit, so I would order a heavier towbar if my vehicle would have been anywhere approaching the up to 5000 pounds limit. Thank you for the oportunity to give the feedback.
