I have been using systane for yrs now. I have severe dry eye from lasik surgery and I need this gel to sleep. I like that it is preservative free & lasts through the night! ( side note: do your research before getting lasik, most dry eye products say for dry eye caused by lasik) i have been luck in that punctal plugs have really helped me but this is a huge problem they dont talk about from lasik!!!!!

Much better than drops

Using this ointment for a corneal abrasion from a 17 hour brain surgery: Careful with this purchase if you are specifically looking for the NIGHTTIME version of the ointment. I ordered this 6-pack and noticed after receiving it that the tubes did not say “Nighttime,” but initially assumed it was the same product since it was still the Systane brand. It is NOT the same as the Nighttime ointment. In the picture I have attached the bottom full tube is what I received 6 of. The top used tube is what I should have received, but didn't. The Nighttime formula is thinner and spreads more evenly across the cornea, which makes vision noticeably less blurry. Even though both products are classified as “ointments,” they feel and perform differently due to the ingredients and thickness of the formula. What I received appears to use a heavier mineral oil/petrolatum base, creating a thicker coating on the eye. As a result, vision becomes blurrier, and you can definitely feel it more while it’s in your eye. Since realizing the difference, I’ve switched to using this thicker ointment only at night since I’m asleep anyway, and I now use the actual Nighttime version during the day because it feels much more comfortable. I’m still giving this 4 stars because Systane products do work well and provide good lubrication. However, I removed one star because the listing advertised the NIGHTTIME version, and I received something different. If the seller wants to make this right, I would appreciate receiving the correct NIGHTTIME ointment that was advertised.
