DA97-13718C Genuine OEM Ice Maker Assembly for Samsung ` Refrigerators

I have the Samsung 4 door frig and it stopped making ice completely. When checking the error codes for the frig it had the 39 C code which is ice maker malfunction. I installed this new ice maker along with performing the other fixes that are recommended and still had the error code. I ended up changing out the main control board on the frig and that fixed the problem. On the plus side I have a spare ice maker if I need it in the future. The new ice maker I installed is working great and so far I'm not having the frost problems.

We have had nothing but problems with the ice maker on our Samsung 4-door fridge. The ice maker would continuously freeze up and need to be defrosted with a blow dryer. And then eventually the ice maker stops working all together. Found out that there is actually a class action law suit against Samsung regarding this. Anyway, ordered this new one. Very easy to install, and so far, it is working great!

Fairly easy to install but ends up like all the Samsung ice makers, frozen solid and useless after about 1 year.Samsung knows they have a major design flaw but won't make good on it. Buying something else other than Samsung when the whole fridge dies.

If you are good with a screwdriver, this is very easy to install. I highly recommend running the defrost mode on the icemaker at least 3 or 4 times because once is definitely not enough to loosen up the coils. Defrosting took several hours. Replacement of ice maker took less than 10 minutes.

Works as it should. Used to replace a 3 yr old unit. The install is a little tricky and it took about 14 hours to start producing ice but once it got started it has been going like a champ

UPDATE! This is a Samsung part right? Well here we go. I thought I was clear 3 months in. Junk! This has now died too. My ice maker always had some water in the chute, a lot initially, then it looked like maybe a small piece of a cube had melted. Well now at about 4 months in this one has frozen up too. This time so bad, I can’t remove the unit. When I have time now, I have to defrost the thing to get all the parts out, then will turn off the ice maker completely. It just sucks to spend this much on a brand new refidgerator to not have any ice and it’s only at 2 years old. This is the 2nd ice maker. Thank goodness we have a counter top IGLOO portable ice maker. It starts making ice within 15 minutes. I have had this about 3 months now. It looks to work fine. Initially when I installed this I wasn’t so sure. See the unit was making ice, but there was also a lot of water coming out of the chute as well when we got our ice. Our original unit froze up just 10 months after plugging it in. It should have been replaced but Samsung convinced us it just needed to be thawed out. They were able to do this again right at 12 months to get me out of warranty. After 2 years, I figured I need to replace this thing if I can. So I stumbled on this one here on Amazon. So 3 months into this one, it at least works as good as when I 1st bought my refrigerator new, so I think it’s a winner. Just hope it holds up longer. The extra water I was getting out of the chute with the iced has slowed down considerably. I would say after a couple 3 weeks maybe. Now if we get any, it’s like a piece of a cube fell in there and melted at most. I have the Samsung French door counter depth unit with the ice and water in the door and chest style freezer on the bottom. I hate the chest freezer by the way, but that’s another story.

This replacement unit worked like a charm! I have a French Door rf23hcedbbc/aa model that is 7 years old. Had ice maker performance and fridge/freezer temperature control issues for at least 2 years and this fixed it! Easy to replace, just make sure the unit is completely de-iced before pulling it out or coil damage may result.
