Works great for magnetism experiments
Note that these rods are thin. 5mm is about 3/16 of an inch or the thickness of a stack of 5 U.S. pennies. These are easy to cut to length with a hacksaw and work very well for making electromagnets. The relative permeability listed in the description, (86 ± 3.61) H/m, comes from experimental data by an undergraduate research assistant in physics (a link to the raw data can be found in the comments for this product on the xUmp website) According to the seller's website, these rods are technically AISI 1008 carbon steel made of 99.31-99.7% iron, cold drawn and annealed at 925°C.

Looks fine and description is clear. I would love to see thinner options too. I will have to lathe this one to 2.5mm

Used as wand in a ritual
It's thin. Like... REALLY THIN. But I'm not using it for science. I'm a practicing Neo-Pagan Witch. It's perfect for a Banishing Ritual I have planned and for future use to channel my strength.
