This is the best hand cream that I have found to protect my eczema filled palms when I don’t have time to reapply lotion after each handwashing.

Excellent product, does work and provides good protection.

It’s has been maybe 2yrs. Since I used this product;however the effectiveness and quality hasn’t changed. But, I can’t afford it. I do 1(one) application and and the tube is finished. I really feel cheated was very disappointing. I would hope the company would either lower the price or increase the quantity.thks

I'm writing this from the perspective of someone with bowel movement issues and will keep it as medically clean as possible, but if you get squirmy about bodily functions, then you might want to find a review more suitable for your need. I hope this helps others with similar problems. I am post surgery for colorectal cancer and ostomy reversal. As anyone with IBS or post colon surgery knows, your exit area can become quite irritated with frequent wiping, kind of our own special "diaper rash". Irritation to the point you have blood on your tissue, from hemorrhoids or not, is no picnic. Mine is non-hemorrhoidal, just bad skin irritation from constant wiping. I tried desitin and pure aloe gel with no real result. There was temporary relief, but the problem would be there again with the very next toilet visit. Then I found Cavilon. It was the solution I was looking for. After a little experimentation, I hit on the right way to use it for this problem. At first, I put it on tissue and wiped with it when I felt I was clean enough. Needless to say, there was discomfort with this method and I also realized that I wasn't really getting a thorough application because of what had preceded it and that using a tissue to apply it was not really the best way to get to all of the irritated skin. I have found that applying it in the evening before going to bed after showering and drying the area has worked the best. The area is clean and dry and I have been fortunate in that I really don't need to do that business very often at night so it has time to really absorb into the skin like it is meant to. I put on a nitrile (non-latex) glove, put some on a finger and spread it around. I also put some in to about the depth of my finger nail to get to the really sensitive skin. I started getting immediate results after 2-3 days. There is no more irritation or discomfort down there. I am still putting it on once daily after 2 weeks, but am considering going to every other day.

I was recommended this by a dermatologist several years ago after countless unsuccessful regimens in the past for my eczema/contact dermatitis on my hands and wrists only. I have rebought this probably 10 times in the last 4 years, it never breaks them out and works well, especially after a lot of handwashing. It is a little on the oilier side but that is going to be like that with really any barrier cream. Minimal fragrance. Nothing crazy expensive or fancy and works very well :)

I love this stuff! It's the best barrier hand cream for cold winter months. It initially seems greasy when applied, but seconds later, it absorbs.

I love this fantastic protectant barrier cream that rubs in clear! Cavilon doesn’t just moisturize, it protects your skin from life’s insults. For me lotion doesn’t adequately moisturize my aging dry cuticles, but Cavilon does the trick. I rub Cavilon into my cuticles morning and night and it protects the edges of my nail beds. Then I rub the excess onto the backs of my hands. It’s noticeable when I am lax with this habit. A little goes a long way. If your hands feel greasy after applying, you’ve used too much. But you can just remove the remainder by rubbing your hands on another dry part of your body.

Good product. An effective skin barrier

I purchased this for my Mum who's bedbound. She gets very sore red patches. but this cream has been an absolute saviour. It's cleared all of them & I won't use anything else now on her.

Very good, I use it when I feel uncomfortable due to the heat and you get abit of chaffing, it really eases the rubbing of skin and stops it from becoming any worse, in fact repairs overnight!!
