JMR Wool Camping Blanket, Fire Retardant Military Throw, Grey (62x84)

My husband and I love these blankets. This is not our first purchase, and it won’t be our last. It does have a new-product aroma, as any blanket we’ve ever bought has had, especially wool. But it’s not unpleasant to us. I love that the blanket is both warm and so soft, unlike the wool blankets of the 1960s and 1970s. I highly recommend these blankets.

I'm really pleased with these. They arrived quickly and are very heavy with a stitched edge. I'm using these for guests at a winter wedding. Yes, they have a smell, they will need to be aired out. These will be great to keep warm and have people take home as favors with the wedding logo embroidered. For this price I didn't expect something that was the quality to be on a bed or couch which they aren't. They are a heavy yet not stiff wool, great for outdoors. I would highly recommend.

When I read the reviews, I was expecting to open the package, take a whiff, and return it. I was ready! Yet, when I opened the package, I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, if you put your nose to the fabric there is a chemical smell. But, IMHO, it is not overpowering. The blanket itself is nice and long, heavy, but a weight that is easily carried and stowed. This is a versatile item and well worth the money. One thing to note is the it is 70% wool and 30% synthetic.

They smell. Not like sheep, but musty and possibly like machine oil from manufacturing. Waiting for several dry days b4 hanging outside to air out. The edge stitching looks solid, and a bit of weft didn't get woven in. Haven't washed them so can't address that. I bought them for quilt batting, so they will be perfectly fine for that purpose.

I am no stranger to military wool blankets. I've slept, washed and cared for them my entire life, my father was in the Army and retired, my husband was in the Army and retired. This blanket? What a nightmare, I have NEVER encountered anything like this ever. Yes, wool blankets do have a smell to them. But this? It smells like a tire, even after washing it twice. It had pieces of very old grass in it which I found all over my washer. . .did they clean the wool before they used it to make the blanket? Small chunks of blanket also came off in the washer. My washer stunk of tire so I bought a washer cleaner, ran it through, with a secondary rinse cycle. In spite of that, it left the grey color of the blanket in my machine that stained the load after it and made that load of wash smell like a tire. Fortunately, I was cautious and washed a load of rags and old rugs. I had to rewash that load because it stunk of tire and in hopes that the grey color would be lessened. That load doesn't smell like a tire anymore but it is still stained grey. I don't know who is writing these positive reviews because it isn't warranted, not by a long shot. If you like the smell of tires and want all your laundry to smell that way, go ahead. If you love the color grey and want your next load to be dyed grey as a bonus, go ahead. This blanket has been sitting out to dry outside, just to see if there has been any improvement in the tire smell. Nope. This thing is going out to the trash, I would not even donate it in hopes that someone would be able to benefit from it but this is the absolutely the worst thing I have ever purchased on-line, ever. Avoid this product like the plague!!!

Arrived and happy. Got this and smells just like it supposed to. Reminds me of that smell in the military bunks and feels way softer then back then too. Just like the products says with the weight. I like it and hope I have this for a long time to come. Will be using this to go camping this winter and also place in my car for in case it gets cold and if power turns off from no heat in my house. An excellent low cost blanket. Good thickness and colour. After I received the first one I bought another.

Weird smell comming of it. Falls apart. Like a shedding animal. Pieces or tufts of wool evrywhere..

Couverture pratique pour avoir dans le coffre de la voiture. Qualité moyenne, peu épaisse, avec 30% de fibres synthétique, le reste en laine recyclée. C'est quand même cher pour ce que c'est même si c'est toujours mieux qu'une banale polaire.

La cobija tiene un fuerte olor como a petroleo al llegar. Es necesario lavarla antes de usarla... yo la lavaria dos veces, una vez no es sufiente. Al lavarla suelta cantidades irreales de fibra de lana. Mas alla de esas dos cosas, la verdad esta muy buena, yo ke la lleve a acampar y me abrigo muy chingon. Tengo entendido que el olor es normal en productos dr lana, sirve para evitas plagas.
