I purchased this TDS meter when I decided to move from buying a water pack to investing in a reverse osmosis water filtration system; the good thing about the water pack is that it's cheap specially if you get the 40 pack from Costco but it's not sustainable on long term in my opinion. I get annoyed by water bottles hanging around the house, bottles being drunken half way and toast in the trash, etc, all these made me decide to get a reverse osmosis water filtration system, it may not be cheap to operate when you factor in the price for filters replacement so to expand my filters life span I like testing my water frequently using a TDS meter and when the water quality from the reverse osmosis filtration system degrades I know it's time for descaling my counter top unit. This TDS meter is very easy to use, practical, works well, durable and you get a reading instantly. This is a very good option if you are looking to test your home water.

I’ve owned dozens of PPM/EC pens, meters and testers over the decades and this is the meter recommend for PPM. It’s inexpensive and accurate enough for most homeowners or hobbyist. This has good clear readability and easy operation. Also just a coin cell battery so it’s light. PPM Meters all share one flaw — they are fragile and break easily! Expensive meters break just as quickly and easily as the inexpensive pens. They just aren’t buy it for life products. A budget meter will give up some accuracy compared to more expensive meters on the market but, the budget meter is still plenty accurate for a home owner/hobbyist. When it fails after a year or two, throw it out and buy a new one. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have a loop to attach a string to so I could hang it from a hook when not in use.

I bought the TDS Meter to measure the TDS of my RO filter, and it’s been quite useful. For the price, it offers excellent value—combining TDS, EC, and temperature measurements in one device. The large backlit LCD display makes it easy to read, even in low light, and the quick and simple one-button operation is a real convenience. However, I’ve noticed that the standard for indicating water quality with green for <40ppm and red for >40ppm might not align with all standards I’m familiar with. Despite this, the meter still effectively serves its purpose for my needs. Overall, it’s a reliable tool for monitoring water quality. Also, I feel the meter is a bit bulky for its functionality.

A great TDS meter. I have use it several times with great success. I was able to see that my refrigerator water was sourced from my whole house water filter and not my reverse osmosis filter like I have seen done before in previous homes. I was also able to tell if my outside hose bib was connected before my whole house water filter or afterward. I was also able to see that my RO system was operating as it should. It works almost instantly. Just stick it in the water :)

Excellent This TDS meter is accurate enough to detect the difference between 0 and 1 total dissolved solids in the water column. A TDS reading below 40 lights up green and anything above 40 lights up red but you can't know the water is safe or not without knowing what is giving the reading of 40 total dissolved solids. The only way to be certain you have safe drinking water is to take your water to be analyzed to find out exactly what's in it and surprisingly a lot of places might do it for free maybe your city or somewhere that wants to sell you a water purifier. If you are using this to monitor your reef system which many are you'll want to strive for 0. Anything above 0 everytime you add water that evaporates you'll also be adding back disloved solids which will be building up daily in your tank or body for that matter and that could be anything from nitrates to phosphates or something worse. I've had a lot TDS meters over the years a hobby of mine is indoor reef keeping and coral propagation for conversation and the salt water eventually rusts the sensors on all the TDS meters after a few years. This has been one is my favorite as screen lights up and is easy to read plus it is highly accurate. You also have a temperature gauge you can switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius. 5 Star Product - Thumbs UP! ✓

Pros: First, it’s accurate for easy, which is the point why I need to buy this. I have a filter jug, tap water is 78 ppm, after filtered is 61 ppm. A small tip: the tds meter can also tells when to change the core of filter jug if you don’t find any difference of filtered water anymore. Second, no calibration needed. Super easy operation. Turn it on and test, that’s it. Third, the big LCD makes reading the numbers much easier. Green for ppm under 40, red for ppm over 40. Fourth, the chart at the back of the meter clearly shows which ppm level of my water. All you need to do is to test your water and compare the ppm with the chart. Then you can have a clear mind of your water quality level. Cons: this meter comes with a leather handy case. Since I never take it anywhere outside my house, it doesn’t do much help to me. But maybe helpful for other people. All in all: After I have this tds meter, I’m more aware of my drinking water quality as everything we take into our body affects our health, especially water. So it’s responsible for our health to check our daily drinking water. So far the quality is good, will update if anything new.

The first time that I used it, I got some pretty good instant readings, and when I shook off the residual water, the cap over the battery compartment came off and entire unit minus the battery cover cap fell into the pot of water and was ruined. I immediately ordered a second one, and this time did a check before putting it over water, and the battery compartment cover came off very easily once again. The meter is fine from what I can tell, but just be careful not to hold it by the end.

Hello, the product arrived with a dead battery, once that was replaced it turned on but wouldn’t give a reading.

Its resolution is solid. It read exactly what I expected. And it has good buttons. Light up display. If it dies I will update. I used it to measure nutrients.

Is perfect I tested water before I put the filter and after. Excellent, highly recommended
