Redid top half of 2014 Yamaha cowlings. Perfect match. Takes time. I did 1 day drying time between each coat(3) of primer and color. After 3rd shot of color wiped with damp rag and tack cloth and sprayed 3 coats of clear 5 min apart. Came out great. First time doing this with some help from YouTube.

Better paint for your outboard...
I prefer this paint over the OEM Yamalube paint. Better finish, better spray nozzle, faster drying. I used the Moeller clear coat on top of this Moeller Yamaha Blue Gray. Came out really nice. Painted and clear coated apron and main engine cover "cowl" then applied new decals. See before and after pics...

Yamaha motor paint
I have used this paint several times. It is a great match and if you use two-part urethane clear over the paint is your best result.

Matched ok. Far from perfect. Nozzle dripped and sprayed drips. Stopped using. Bought Yamaha paint. No issues with Yamaha paint. Yamaha paint matched equally bad. Likely a fade issue with my paint. Both were bluer and darker. Buy the Yamaha paint.
