These are great wall protectors. I highly recommend.
I purchased these wall protectors for my security gate. I got the gate primarily for my cat, as my daughter and her husband live upstairs with their two dogs and another cat, and I wanted to keep their pets from wandering into my basement space. Initially, the gate kept slipping whenever someone passed through it and I was afraid that it would end up breaking the gate, so I decided to try these little wall protectors that I'm reviewing. I first taped the sections together where it opens to hold it in place before removing the gate from the wall. After that, I installed the mounting brackets and secured the gate properly, and now it’s stable without any slippage. Even when my stepson slams the gate, it stays firmly in place against the wall. Before using these mounts, the gate was a bit of a hassle and I was worried it might break. However, since I've used these new mounts, I haven't had any problems. I’m really pleased with them and highly recommend them—they're also very easy to use! I’d say they are a good value for the money and they fit perfectly how they were supposed to fit. The functionality of them is great because now my gate doesn’t slip on the wall, I don’t have to worry about anyone slamming it and it breaking it. They are very sturdy and I’m very happy with this quality. I looked at all the ratings before I purchased and I’m glad I did because this is a great product. If you have a baby gate, or a pet gate, I recommend that you get these. You can install these into your wall to put them in there permanently or you don’t have to do that and you just put them against the wall. Depends on your set up, but I put them at the very bottom of my stairs that goes into my basement and they do the job. Thank you. Oh and I’m sorry about taking the video in the dark, everyone’s asleep upstairs so I had to be very quiet and wasn’t able to turn on any lights. But I think that you can see in the video I went around and shook every corner so that you could see how sturdy it is and I’m telling you it’s 30, before they were slipping every time I would grab a hold of the area to see if they were tight and I would get slipped so I’m very pleased with these. And they are well priced. I think I paid $10 and that’s pretty cheap for such a great quality item.

cushioned, grippy, stable
These are amazing! I have 8 of these for 2 pressurized dog gates in my personal home which I use to run a dog boarding / daycare business. I have used many pressurized dog / baby gates over the years in different doorways / arches and almost every time when I take the gate down there are indents in the wood, scratches, or paint missing as it stuck to the gate instead of the wall upon removal. Also the gates were very prone to slipping and sliding around with minimal pressure or bumping. These genius little gadgets are a dream come true! They gently grip the wall distributing the pressure to hold tighter and also not damage the door frame. I have set up and taken these down multiple times over the past few years (when I wanted to shampoo the room or move a larger piece of furniture through) and they are effortless to install / remove and come away clean every time. The dogs (and people) can bump or push on the gates and they never shift anymore. They haven’t gotten brittle or cracked in any way over the last 3 years. They looks as clean and new as when they were first purchased. The white color is bright and normal making it become almost invisible on a white gate & white wall combo. These were worth every penny paid!

THESE ARE GREAT! GATES HELD SECURELY WITH NO DAMAGE TO WALL!
WHERE WERE THESE YEARS AGO - THEY ARE GREAT!! We have had many gates and they RUIN our walls. These padded protectors do the trick: they hold the gate securely and come off leaving our walls intact. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Extra Security Without Damaging the Walls
These work really well and definitely made our baby gate feel more secure. We use our gate daily, and having these in place gives me peace of mind that everything is held firmly in position. What I really appreciate is that they protect the walls at the same time. No dents, scuffs, or marks on the trim, which is huge—especially if you’re using pressure-mounted gates. They create a stable surface for the gate to press against without causing damage. Installation was simple and tool-free. Just position them and tighten the gate. They fit perfectly and didn’t shift once installed. If you’re using a baby gate (or even a pet gate), these are absolutely worth adding for extra stability and wall protection. Simple but super effective.

Works well
Yayyy, it's yet another $10-15 addon to round out a purchase. /S That being said, it works as intended very well. Protects walls while at the same time making the baby/pet gate sturdier.

Make sure you select the correct shape for your gate's location!
We have four baby gates in our house (my wife now refers to our house as a "gated community"), and we use wall protectors for all of them. We have been quite happy with this particular rectangular model (when used in the appropriate locations -- see below). They are easy to install, their rubber grip minimizes slippage of the gate, and they leave very little marking behind on the wall when they are removed. Wall protectors come in several different shapes and sizes, which is good because baby and pet gates can be installed in different types of locations (staircases, doorways, large walls, etc.). It is important to select the proper wall protector based on where you plan to place your gate. So... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A FEW GENERAL PRINCIPLES ABOUT WALL PROTECTORS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Wall protectors don't just protect your walls from dents and scratches; they also usually provide a better grip between the gate and the wall. This means your toddler or pet will have a harder time pushing the gate out of place (though they will still try!). 2) Almost all wall protectors will still leave a small mark on your wall, especially if it's painted drywall. There are ways to minimize the mark left behind, but it's probably unrealistic to expect absolutely no evidence that you had a gate installed. The protectors do, at least, help minimize the risk of DENTS in the wall. 3) A larger wall protector will generally have a lower risk of denting your wall than a smaller one because it will distribute the pressure from the gate over a larger area of the wall. 4) On the other hand, the larger the wall protector, the farther that contact point of the gate will end up being from adjacent structures like the floor. For example, with a large circular wall protector, the opening where you fit the gate's tension screw is a few inches from the edge of the protector, which means the bottom of the gate will be an inch or two off the floor. Obviously having the horizontal bar at the bottom of the gate's opening floating a few inches off the floor would create a tripping hazard! 5) Therefore, in general the best wall protector to use for each of your gate's contact points is the one with the largest surface area that will fit into the space without displacing the gate. (Obviously I'm ignoring aesthetics here...) With those principles in mind, let's consider three of the most common shapes of wall protectors for baby gates and where they might best be used: 1) Round: These wall protectors are usually 5-6" in diameter, with an opening in the center where you insert the gate's tension screws. Their biggest advantage is creating less pressure on your walls due to their size (which is especially important against drywall). However, they won't fit in some places and they probably shouldn't be used against the floor, where they could prevent your gate from sitting flush against the floor. So use them on your gate's upper contact points wherever you have a large wall space. 2) Rectangular: These are usually about 2" x 6". They put slightly more pressure on your walls than the large circular protectors, but they fit into places the circular ones won't. I suggest using these in two types of places: - In the horizontal orientation for ALL lower gate supports, EXCEPT in places where your horizontal wall space is only a few inches (such as the bottom of a narrow door frame). This will allow you to position the gate as close to the floor as possible. - In the vertical orientation for UPPER gate supports in a narrow door frame. 3) Square: These are typically about 2" x 2" -- in other words, not much larger than the gate support. I would use these in only one place: for the LOWER gate support at the bottom of a narrow door frame, where really nothing else would fit.

Great For Some Drill-In Pressure Mounted Gates
So far works great! I got these prematurely and I'm glad I did. I was going to use it regardless because I wanted a pressure mounted baby gate anyway. Come to see that the gate that I got wanted me to drill into the walls to secure it. I rent so I didn't want to put more holes in the wall. I remembered I got this and tried to see if it would be secured with just this. It works great doesn't wobble, it's surprisingly sturdy. I say some drill-in pressure mounted gates because I only have the one. Highly recommend

These ‘pads’ spread the load and improve grip on wallpaper / door-frames - recommended accessory!
I used these Wall Nanny ‘pads’ to fit 3 different pet gates (similar to child gates, but designed for pets). I found them easy to fit and very effective at spreading the load on wallpaper (to avoid damage), and/or, improving the grip on gloss-painted wooden door-frames (where the ‘pads’ supplied with the pet gates struggled to grip sufficiently). Note that I also used some of the ‘extended’ version of these Wall Nanny pads for the gate across the foot of the stairs, as the opening was slightly too wide for the pet gate, as supplied, and these were also easy to fit and effective. I found that I could happily mix the 2 types of Wall Nanny pads, as necessary, for the same pet gate, depending on the opening size, presence of skirting board on one side, etc. Recommended accessory for fitting pet/child gates, as necessary.

Perfect for baby gate
Does exactly what you expect. There are holes that you could use to screw them on to the wall, but we found that the rubber/silicon pads provided enough grip, when the gate is pushed against the walls, that screwing wasn't necessary. Really helped with the skirting boards as well by providing a wider contact area to the wall. We haven't taken them off yet of course, but as there is no screwing or adhesive I can only assume that the walls will be unmarked at the end of use.
