I don't know why the alum block isn't more popular here in the States as a natural aftershave and deodorant. I stumbled across them several years back while growing a website for shaving snobs - you know, straight razors and badger fur shaving brushes and oils, etc. I decided to try an alum block (I had to order one from Turkey), and ever since, it's been a part of my daily routine. So simple to use, just wet it and rub it on your face after shaving then rinse it off and dry. It has a cooling sensation. It will help heal small cuts and skin irritation from razor burn and will also tighten the skin. Amazing! I dont know why more people don't know about this handy little product. It can also be used under the armpits as a deodorant. It has no scent and inhibits sweating and odor. I like the G.B.S. alum block because: - It comes in a 3 pack. This will last me a long time. Years probably. One block lasts several months even with daily use. This is a great price for an alum block. The 3.5 ounce/100 gram size is standard. Easy to pick up and handle, not too bulky. - Each block includes a plastic case. This is great for several reasons. The first solves the problem of where on your sink do you put the slippery alum block after you've used it. If you've ever dropped one of these blocks into the sink, it's not great when they chop off or shatter. So it's wonderful to have a handy little case to put your block into after use. The case is also useful for travel.

These bars work great! I am new to wet shaving with a double edged razor. IThere is a learning curve and it takes skill,thus I get cuts and irritation. So after shaving I wet the bar with cold water,then rub over my zhaved area. You get a temporary sting followed by a tightening of the skin, it stops the bleeding and kills bacteria, leaving your face with less redness from irritation. These alum bars are a must if you wet shave.Another use is for underarm deodorant. It works great with no scent I can go two days without having strong body odor. A very cost effective and great product that works excellent 👌

don’t have anything to compare this to, but it feels really good after shaving. A light cooling and sneaking sensation can be felt after a nice quick shave. Might be five stars or four.

I bought this product for my husband. He uses it on his face when shaving and it has different purposes! It’s antiseptic block so he scrubs his face for 1 minute with water and the alum block. When he cuts while shaving, he immediately rubs on the cut and it heals and stops the blood. It’s amazing! He gave me one to use it as deodorant as it is natural, no chemicals. It works great!

Price is great, product upon arrival.. not so much. Broken inside packing in box, and the bars are hollow apparently.

These work great to stop bleeding from minor nicks and determining sensitive skin areas after shaving with a safety razor. A single bar lasts much longer than anticipated, so it will take years to go through 3 bars. On the bright side, salts don't have an expiration date.

Just received. Checked. It’s very good finishing and cutting to handle. Really worth. The compact box also very nice. All alum should handle carefully when applying face.

I normally use it for after shaving with my straight-edge, but its properties also make it a great anti-perspirant! Only thing is that once the surface block gets glossy with use, its effects decrease (you will notice the surface is grainy when new), so simply sand the surface with sand paper or your wife’s nail file (it takes 20 seconds) to roughen it and to bring out the alum effect. Lasts a long time. And: the ladies can use it too! :)

This really works. Now a days with covid-19 and wearing of masks being mandatory in work places and most public places I had an outbreak, I started using alum stone on my face everyday when I wash my face and the acne started to disappear my face is more clear. It's thick enough to be held in hand and rub on my face. I leave it in hot water for about 2 to 3 minutes, I wash my face and I don't dry my face and I rud the alum stone on my face for about 2 to 3 minutes then I let it dry on my face it is amazing and the results are visible within 3 to 4 day I love this product. Thank you for making this.

This is my first time using alum and must say that it's awesome. Use it after shaving and it does a great job. Will use it from now on...
