Cheap and best washing disinfectant

A long forgotten cheap and easy mild whitener cum disinfectant used in laundry. Just add a teaspoon or two in pre wash or post wash container of washing machine. No fragrance. No damage to appliance unlike corrosive chlorine based disinfectants.
