The History of the Manifesto In our first step as a company, Holstee’s founders, Dave, Mike and Fabian sat together on the steps of Union Square in New York to write down how they define success. The goal was to create something they could reflect back on if they ever felt stuck or found themselves living according to someone else’s definition of happiness. In 2009, the words of the Holstee Manifesto took form in a bold letterpress poster with the help of designer, Rachael Beresh. Not long after it began to take the internet by storm, with the Washington Post calling it “The Next Just Do It”. In 2010, we created the Lifecycle Video above as a homage to Manifesto while celebrating the diversity of bicycle riding in New York City. The Manifesto has been translated into 13 languages (and counting!) with the help of our worldwide community, including Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Polish, and Hebrew and Arabic. In 2012 we launched MyLife to collect the many stories people were sending in about how they chase their dreams, live their best lives and how they have chosen to redefine success in their own terms. Years later, it is monumentally encouraging and inspiring to see how many people with which the words of The Holstee Manifesto have resonated. We are honored, proud and humbled to have such a remarkable community that surrounds and supports Holstee. Review: Great quality and love the message - great quality, saw this same poster framed in a store and it was close to $150. I loved it but just couldn't bring myself to spend that much on it. Got online with desertcart the same night, found it and ordered the poster, when to Michael's and bought a frame for $25 and it looks fantastic! The paper is a nice thick quality, came quickly and in great condition. It was rolled up but it only took a day on the table with some heavy books on it to get it flattened out. Review: Sweet sentiments - I saw this poster on another website and tried to buy it: sold out and backordered. So, I came to good old desertcart and here it was, ready to send (why don't I just come to desertcart FIRST for all of my shopping desires?). I plan to frame it so I can see it daily; right now it's rolled up and protected in its original packaging. The only issue with this is that the company sent it via USPS. Its arrival was delayed; the tracking clearly was not updated on the website. The USPS employees could provide no information. If this had been sent via UPS or FedEx, 1)it would have been on time or 2)if it were late it would have been trackable. The company chose USPS because it was the least expensive shipping option. I am not faulting the company; I understand the importance of saving money. But I was disappointed in the USPS.
