I've even used in OC, MD march (40ยฐ) waters
Surfing background: so I've been surfing for 5 years now on the east coast (primarily in Ocean ciry, MD) where the waters get VERY cold in the winter. (Usually around 36-42 degree temps)I'm usually forced to wear 5mm gloves anytime in paddling out in winter surf but I accidently left mine home one day and would have had to drive 30 minutes to go home and get them but I did however have my 3mm that I use in late April into May when the waters are into the 50 degrees area. So I did want any anxious surfer would do in my situation and paddled out in 40 degree waters wearing these 3mm hyperflex gloves and hoping that they were sealed tight enough to not let any water in.And well they actually worked... for a while. Then after about 45 minuted of being in the water they began letting water in very very slowly. They made my hands instantly frozen! But I decided to stick it out and stay out for a while longer and I was sure glad I did. After about 10 minutes of opening and closing my hands into a fist to keep the blood flowing, my handd actually warmed up! The waters that had entered into my gloves actually started to warm up in no time and so I was able to stay out and surf for another 2+ hours!!!So overall I absolutely love these gloves. I've even worn them 3 more times in march waters in OC since with no problems at all (except for them few minutes when water begins leaking).. That is the only sucky part but after it warms up these gloves are as good as any 5mm I've used in winter..PS- it might just be me but the mediums I bought seem a tad bigger than I would have liked but still work just fine.

Good for cold kayaking
I have tried numerous gloves to keep my hands warm while kayaking in cold water, some at twice the price. These are by far the best to date. The 2x extra large size makes them easy to put on and take off when my hands are wet and cold. They are very flexible and you get a great grip on your paddle. My hands are not toasty when temp is below 40 but they don't go numb. I bought a pair of 5 mm to see if they are any warmer but have not tried to date. These are not the most durable gloves. If you catch a sharp rock or thorn, you will take a chunk out of them so plan on replacing after a couple of years if you are rough on them.

Great gloves for the money!
I use these 3 mm gloves for surfing with a 4/3 wetsuit and my hands stay very warm. They are so much lighter than my old gloves. They are sticky too, so I don't slip while standing up making me face plant like my old gloves. I gave them four stars because the wrists are not tapered, making them somewhat difficult to tuck in to my wetsuit.

Weak Material wears through quickly.
These are terrible gloves for surfing. the material is a rubberized weak material that eats down to the inner red core quickly. Bought one and returned it. Figured just a bad production. The replacement did the same thing so now I have 2 sets that are useless. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM.Very Cheap material. Get the HyperFlex 3mm for 18.99, a much better made glove. This was a very comfortable glove except for the fast wear on the material.

Great quality and hyperflexible as advertized.
Just went freediving in 45 degree water and these were perfect. Nice and tight when worn, but very resilient when yanking them on. I would recommend.

Worked great for one season. Glued seams now coming apart and letting cold water in.

Will not buy again. Need grip protection to preserve neoprene.
Did not last 2 months before fingers wear out. No grip protection to prevent wear.
