Great gift for the grandkids. Beautiful book and lovely story. Much better than the movie, we think. The ornament is lovely too.

I love this book so much. Growing up my dad would pick out 3-5 books and display them and then let us pick one to read on Christmas Eve so of course when I had a daughter I wanted to have the same books for her to read on Christmas Eve. The art in this book is lovely and rich. It just feels like Christmas and the winter time. The pages are buttery and thick. Overall I highly recommend this book for family traditions during the holidays. It terms of reading allowed the font size is around a 14 (see photo) and the story itself is not too long. The pages are big and bright so perfect for kids to see while you are reading.

As a kid, my mom and I would watch The Polar Express movie every year for Christmas. The movie always brings a tear to my eye. When I got pregnant with my son, I knew we had to get The Polar Express in a book to read with him on Christmas Eve. I got this and the classic ‘The Night Before Christmas’ book. The artwork in this book is fantastic, classic and full of the Christmas vibe. I got emotional going through it upon its arrival, imagining reading it to my son. I can’t wait for Christmas, to bring all the joy to life for my son and share bits of my childhood with him! Get this book!

After years of reading this every December, I can honestly say The Polar Express has become one of those rare books that truly holds up over time—the story is calm, magical, and quietly meaningful, with illustrations that feel almost cinematic and invite kids to linger on each page; it’s especially lovely for cozy nighttime reading and works well for a wide age range since younger kids enjoy the visuals while older kids start to grasp the deeper theme about belief and wonder, though it is more reflective than action-packed, so it’s best for slower, intentional read-aloud moments rather than high-energy storytime. Classic Christmas story and my son really enjoyed the beautiful pictures! We read multiple times over the holiday season.

Classic story with beautiful pictures. Not several for my grandchildren to take on our Polar Express train ride in Palestine, Texas.

The book is a classic. The art is so nostalgic and I am excited to read this with my little one. It does come with an ornament, but it is made of super thin plastic, almost like cardboard. It is not good quality and isn't anything special. It is just an extra though, so it doesn't take away from the book or the purchase itself.

What a gorgeous edition for celebrating 30th anniversary of the book. The size of the book is enormously large to demonstrate the beautiful artistry by the author. The full size illustrations are too good and very well depict the imaginary world. My son loved the movie of same title and watched it so many times that I thought of gifting this wonderful edition to him. And he was so thrilled to receive it, going through it 2-3 times on the day he got it. There is a small note from the author at the end of the book which is worth reading. As we grow up and start adjusting with the reality, we slowly start leaving behind the childhood imaginary world which once thrilled and entertained our lives. But there is always a train that would take us to that bygone days and help cherish the memories forever. There is a password in the book to download the audio book which has a melodious background symphony.
