I recently rediscovered this show which I watched as a child. I went online to see if I could find a die cast model of the Space Battleship Yamato and I was pleased to run across this series. I researched and found several models made by Bandai, Soul of Chogokin. I settled on the newest, the G-86 model. It had the most extras and detail. I was a little nervous spending so much money for this toy, but took the Chance. I was not disappointed. The model arrived in brand new condition and everything about it spoke of high quality. The parts that had to be assembled fit together with no problem, and even though the instructions were in complete Japanese, it was easy to figure out. There are also a lot of videos of it's unboxing to watch on Youtube. Looks great on my desk

This thing is awesome. Would be nice if the instructions came with English additions. But you okay with it for a while and you figure it out. The turrets move cleanly and the added ships/fighters are very detailed for their size. Was the perfect addition for my collection. The sounds are awesome and the lights are cool. My fav is the main gun. The light up effect is crazy. Very well done and worth every cent. I made a video of it working but since I couldn’t keep it (verbally) clean I won’t upload it.

This is an unbelievable item. Not a model in the sense that you build it, although there are additional things you can add to it to enhance the look. Makes a handsome display and is just darn fun to play with all the controls—ship sounds, lights, character voices (In Japanese) and music. Husband loves it and even my girls play with the controls occasionally. I’d highly recommend this for any Starship Yamato enthusiast.

Definitely improvements over the previous Yamato GX releases, especially with the electronics console and the addition of the remote rotating turrets. It's a solid, beautiful piece like all the others that straddles between toy and model kit. The only things lacking for me are an exposed on/off switch and a somewhat "dynamic" pose like the 57. I already put the remote through its paces and I did accidentally manage to make it go into some sort of diagnostic mode where it was shouting the alphabet at me. That only happened once thankfully. The one flaw in my particular piece (the reason for the missing two stars) is the non-working bridge LEDs. It's annoying that they don't light, but not worth the hassle to send it back for replacement.

Absolutely an amazing replica. The best feature is the rotating canons.

This was a gift for a friend, the detail looks nice, the turrets seems easy to install on the base ship. The fighters that come with it look good. I have not heard the firing sounds or seen the remote control in action.
