If you are looking for a dress you can breastfeed in, but doesn't look like a nursing dress, this is that dress. The buttons below the tassel are decorative. However, the ones above are functional. The top of the dress can be unbuttoned down to the tassel, giving plenty of room for nursing. They are buttoned with a loop of elastic rather than a button hole, so you can button and unbutton one-handed with a little practice. There is a panel of fabric that extends beyond the buttons, so you won't peak between the buttons. The tassel is decorative and affixed with a stitch, making simple to remove if you don't like it. However, once removed you would have to reattach it if you want it back on the dress. The fabric is lightweight enough to make it a good option for warmer weather. I'm a few inches taller than average and the dress hit at the ankle. The one big downside is that it was immediately obvious when taking the dress out of the package that the material is see-through in the wrong light. I highly recommend not standing in front of a window on a bright day. Also, if you do plan to nurse in this dress, I recommend sizing up if you are between sizes, so there is some give for the top of the dress. Otherwise you could risk popping a stich when pulling fabric to the side.
