Sprite Showers Slim-Line 2 Universal Shower Filter, Chrome

This showered filter was easy to install and took about ten minutes. I did remove the inner water flow restricting rubber disc on both ends and the water flow hasn't slowed down at all. I have mine attached to a shower head that has a wand and a fixed mount that's attached to my showered spout. It needed slight adjusting in order to completely prevent leaking and to adjust it so that the showered suddenly didn't (automatically begin to turn and spray water outside of the shower once it was turned on). I feel this is due to the water pressure, but with a little adjusting, strategically adjusting plumber's tape, it woks like a charm. The stream of water is still smooth and it performs better than when NOT using it. It's lightweight, it's decent value for the money, -after doing research on ways to purify shower heads in my home, the only way is to install a system, so this is a temporary solution that does reduce the hardness of the water.

Up nice quality shower filter for a nice price works wonderful. Easy to use a little difficult to replace the cartridge inside. Because the canister gets a little difficult to open, but make sure you put enough grease on it.And it works fine no problem

Seems like this manufacturer isn’t nearly as out of touch with their product’s users as mostl manufacturers seem to be these days. They might even USE their OWN products instead of just trying to shovel junk on the unsuspecting public! Amazing. I thought I was going to have to either buy a whole new handle shower head with a filter or (much worse) shorten the shower arm cooling out of the wall in order to get a filter to fit. This one adds very little length to the shower arm, so you can connect a handle shower head to it without needing to be 4’ 5” tall to still fit under it. It adds especially little extension to the arm since the arm (pipe) screws into it halfway down inside the middle. The filter is a no-nonsense filter. No magic balls or any nonsense that does absolutely nothing but try to scam people with pseudo-technology. I think it was the second best filter in the testing list I found for chlorine removal, but they do mention in the instructions that some people’s tap water could have some chlorine compounds that it isn’t designed to remove so removal wouldn’t always be absolutely 100% everywhere for everyone. Bit it was still much better than most others when I was researching. The only problem I’ve noticed with it is more of a problem with the installation instructions. During shipping some of the filter media (which is sand-like granules) can shake out of the filter, the filter chamber cap can vibrate loose, and grains get under the O ring seal and the cap. And if you just install it then it will immediately be leaking around the edge. All you have to do is unscrew it (as though you were changing the filter) and take the filter and O ring out, rinse everything off to make sure the are no stray grains of filler media messing up the seal, and put it back together again. Only a tiny amount of grains shake out, and the stuff rinses off easily, but it’s likely enough to prevent the O ring from sealing when the cap probably got loose too. So just check and clean the filter seal before installing. After I did this everything was perfect after running water through it for a minute like the instructions tell you. I’m betting the manufacturer will end up adding this check to the install instructions at some point. Anyway, it does not lower the water pressure or anything that i I can tell. Anyone using the shower here hasn’t noticed it and I don’t even notice that it’s there either. I hadn’t heard of Sprite before, but I’ll be keeping this company in mind next time I need to buy the sort of products they produce.

I've used it in the shower only once so far so I will update this review if my opinion changes. Putting on the filter was extremely simple. I simply unscrewed my existing shower head, put this thing on and then screwed my shower head back on. Water flow was the same after putting on the filter. Water was squirting out of the top but I didn't tighten it very well at first. That was a simple fix. The one concern I have is that the product in the box doesn't look exactly like the picture on this page. There's no Slim-Line imprint on the filter cover OR the filter inside. The instruction booklet doesn't even mention Sprite anywhere. I was a bit apprehensive, thinking this was some bad copy but it worked in the shower and my hair already felt differently (so soft!) after that one use. I'm willing to give it a try for $20 bucks, but if it is the real thing, Sprite would do itself a favor by branding it's products better.

I've used these filters for years. My hair has never felt or looked better, and my sensitive skin has never been more comfortable. The filters also successfully got rid of the chlorine smell that lingered in my apartment after showers, which was a plus. Water pressure does take a bit of a hit, but the trade-offs are worth it. The filter housing is prone to leakage though, but the leaks can generally be stopped. One problem with the design is that it seems most people try to open the wrong end to change filters or treat leaks. I made this mistake early on and even handed one of these to other people to test out. All of us were inclined to try to open the wrong end. Above the description of this product is a series of photos and a video. The video clearly shows the proper way to open the filter housing, and when done this way, it's very easy to open and close. When I experienced leaks, it was because I'd accidentally loosened the end I was supposed to open while trying to open the wrong end. 🤦‍♀️ Someone else here mentioned the potential for loose sediment. The first thing I do when I get one of these is open it up and take it apart. I check both ends of the filter housing and the filter itself. Any loose sediment can be rinsed out and/or wiped away. It's also important to make sure you thoroughly wipe down the threads that connect the two ends. Once I've done that, I put it all back together and make sure everything's tight. To ensure there are no leaks, I make sure the o-ring is in place in both the shower filter and the shower head. I apply clean plumbing tape to both the shower arm and the shower filter. There are now no leaks and my showers are healthy and comfortable. 😊

Absolutely love this filter for our shower! We have hard water and could feel it before now the water doesn’t feel gross or leave stains on the shower. Great price and super easy to install.

After reading the reviews on this product I had high hopes. I was looking for a shower filter because we have extremely hard water and my hair has been feeling like it won’t get completely clean lately. I did some troubleshooting by switching up shampoos, but even ones that used to work well don’t work well anymore. I have a 2.5gpm 9-inch rain shower head that has had great pressure. After installing the filter and running it for the minute to flush the filter, it looked like the water was coming out of the shower head fine. I was happy there were no leaks. The next morning, I went to take a shower and I didn’t realize how low the water flow was until there wasn’t enough flowing to effectively rinse off my face wash. I ended up taking the whole thing off and showered with just the water coming out of the pipe because I was in a rush to get ready for work. We have really good water pressure - it’s so high coming in from the street that we needed to install a regulator, so it was definitely a surprise that using this filter reduced the flow so much that I could barely rinse my face. Also, if you’re planning on trying it out since it has free returns, keep in mind that water keeps dripping out of the filter for a few days after you’ve used it. Amazon still wants the return, so I’m going to put the filter in a baggie and then back in the package to return it.

I live in an apartment in Texas and the tap water has so much chlorine that you can smell it as if you're at the swimming pool. I easily installed this Sprite filter and tested the water with reagent strips that showed a decrease in chlorine. I have had no problems with leaking as some others have. The water also feels softer. I am pleased with my purchase.

This is just what I needed for my shower, it was easy to install, and I'm no scientist but it seems to work well filtering the water in my shower as I can tell by hair. No leaks or anything.

This thing does wonders , seriously ,after a month of use i noticed major changes in my skin and my hair ,they are amazingly less dry than before , before i coudnt take take a shower and not put lotion after , now i barely need it , my beard is soft now , wich my girlfriend loves it.

-The filter is a good product and hopefully It will help reduce the issues caused by hard water. The clear filter inside shows that it is filled with a significant amount of kdf55 (visually at least) along with other 2 types of beads/balls. -Installation is easy but teflon tape is 100% necessary. The body is made of plastic so it is important to tighten it just by hand. -The minor issue that the attached video shows is the slight leakage from the body of filter, which i was unable to resolve with the o-rings. This leakage had no impact on the water pressure, and the leakage has neither increased nor decreased with usage. For me, it is within acceptable range. -As for the impacts, i do feel my hair has started to look healthier and reduced hair loss. Just to test this, i have not changed any other variables such as shampoos/products etc. But i believe any significant impact will take time to appear.
