These Mead #10s are a solid choice for anyone needing a reliable workhorse for home or office mailings. I’ve been using them for my 1099-related documents lately, and the quality is exactly what you’d expect from a brand like Mead. The security lining is dark and effective, which provides great peace of mind when mailing sensitive forms—you truly can't see the contents even under bright light. The 20lb paper feels sturdy and handles laser toner beautifully without any smearing. While the envelopes themselves are great, the real secret to making them look professional is how you feed them through your printer. If you've ever had envelopes come out curled or jammed, it's usually because they're wrapping around the internal rollers. To get them perfectly flat, I use the manual feed slot to keep the guides snug (as shown in my first photo) and always open the rear output tray of my printer (Image 1). This "straight-path" setup prevents the heat from bending the adhesive strip and keeps the envelope 100% flat. To get the addresses perfectly centered without the usual headache of Word templates, I've been using a simple web tool called toenvelope. com. It’s the only one I’ve found that easily adds the Intelligent Mail Barcode at the bottom, which gives the final product a very "official" business-like appearance (you can see the layout and print quality in my second photo) (Image 2). Overall, if you combine these quality Mead envelopes with a proper straight-path printing setup, you get a professional result that looks like it came from a print shop.
