Soft foam curlers that won't hurt when you sleep in them
Years ago I used to use hot curlers to curl my hair but I stopped because that faded out and those people didn't do that anymore. I then wanted to start doing it again just slightly. So if you wet your hair like after a shower or you just wet it down you can put these curlers in your hair. They snap shut easily and then you go to bed. Then when you wake up and you remove them, your hair is really curly. Sometimes you may have to put some product in your hair like some mousse or something that would help if your hair is a little resistant to curling. But I don't brush it out with a brush. I just use my fingers and go through it and it looks great. These are good quality made. The foam is of good quality. It's sturdy and durable and it's a good value for the money. Conair is a good brand name you can trust

I got so many compliments!
My hair is wavy can have some curl to it but these foam rollers brought the bounce out! I have only used them once. I was eager to use them so as soon as I got them, I put them in my hair. I have a shirt layered bib chin length. My hair was freshly washed and dry when I put them on. After 5 hours in my hair, they produced bouncy curls! I did take a nap with them on and I didnโt find it hard to do. I did put them in as tight as I could and used up about 40 of the rollers. I went to town putting in my hair! I donโt use any heat in my hair but really wanted to do my hair. These rollers are perfect. For longer hair you may need to see if there is a set with only larger sized rollers, those are going to be what you will need. Iโm happy that I found these!

Works beautifully with African American long hair for basic and intricate vintage dry sets!
I like these curlers for doing more intricate vintage hairstyles with an overnight dry set. For a basic vintage dry set I prefer using a set of foam and wire silky cloth rollers that I also bought on Amazon. I bought these originally from Amazon but they came damaged so I purchased the same set elsewhere for more money because shipping was not included.๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ Oh well ๐ Lets get on to the review shall we? I have long very thick hair and bangs plus I donโt use heat on my hair, but I love to rock vintage hairstyles. Since itโs kinda hard to get the right kind of vintage curl if you donโt use heat and have long hair especially if you have African American hair and want your edges to be smooth *** I have 3c edges and the rest is 2b/c ***, Iโm gonna give you an example of how I use these to create vintage styles like the one in the picture. There are a ton of ways to do this style, this is just how I have to do it for my hair type.๐ค As I primarily sleep in my curlers, I usually only do the front with these particular curlers because sleeping in regular foam rollers is uncomfortable. I prefer to use the foam and wire rollers for the back because they are like sleeping on mini pillows. These foam ones were absolute murder in the back to sleep in for me and Iโve been sleeping in rollers, even the hard plastic variety!!!!!, for 20 years. If I am doing a day set and not sleeping in them, I use the entire color variety of curlers which is what I did for the hair in the picture. How I used these: I begin with my normal side part. Then I part my hair with a rat tail comb starting from the tip of one ear over to the tip of the other ear. I clip the rest with a claw clip so itโs out of the way. I take the less hair heavy section and clip it so itโs out of the way as well, then I take the heavier hair section and start to part it. I slightly dampen the parted sections with a curl cream, then starting from the top of my head, I take the first section of hair from the middle of the section and place it on top of the open blue curler. Then I place a finger on top of the hair thatโs directly on the roller ***to keep it steady and the curl smooth ***and use my other hand to wrap the bottom part of my hair around the curler in an over under motion to the end. You can generally remove your finger once you have wrapped it the first time. It usually takes about 6-8 winds around the curler to get the bottom part of my curl all wrapped up. I then grip both ends of the curler so that the hair stays on and is smooth and continue to roll the hair up to my scalp making sure to pull taught so all my crinkly edges get in there, taking care to ensure the curl tip is smooth and tucked into the roller when finished, then snap the curl bar down. The first curl is rolled with the hair over the curler from the middle in an over under motion and the next with the hair wrapped in an under over motion till you reach the scalp. Continue rolling the curls like this until you reach the end. Itโs important to figure out how many pieces to section off so that the last curler is rolled in an under over motion towards your scalp. I had 4 sections, but if I want it to be even more elaborate, I have 6. Repeat on the other side. For the remaining hair in the back, I part it down the middle and roll each separate side from the top down. I do it this way because itโs easier to sleep in them for me and itโs become a habit even when Iโm not sleeping in em, but you can section your hair all the way across your head in the more traditional manner if you prefer. I clip off one side with the claw clip and start sectioning the other side of my hair from the top. I use the large pink ones for the top 2 rows for volume ***rolled with the hair over***, the green for the following 2 rows and the yellow for the last 1-3 rows *** all but the first two rows are rolled with the hair in an under over motion around the roller till you reach your scalp*** Repeat on the other side. My hair doesnโt like to hold a curl at the bottom but using the second to smallest roller in this set helps alleviate the problem. I cover my hair with either a head scarf or silk bonnet to keep the curls smooth and use a steam cap for 20-30 mins to set the curls if Iโm doing a dry set. I also cover my hair when sleeping in the set to prevent breakage and to keep the curls smooth. If doing a dry set and not sleeping in the rollers, because I have a massive amounts of hair, it can take 4-6 hours for the hair to set. The steam cap is CRUCIAL to making sure the curls hold and your edges are steamed so they are smooth. I donโt want to tease you with partial knowledge, so since I described how to use the rollers to get the hair in the picture, I might as well finish you off and tell you how I created my curled results.๐ค I take the back out first, finger comb the curls then twist one side into a tight high bun and repeat on the other side. If you want less volume, make the buns low. The buns have to be tight at the crown so that your edges are smooth when you take off your steam cap. Put on a steam cap for 10-20 mins and leave your hair in the buns after taking off the cap. Then take out the front. I take out the heavier side of my hair first, style it, then do the other side so I can blend them together easily and I donโt have a mass of hair to deal with all at once. I donโt comb the curls, I wind each curl around my finger and pin all the individual curls from the back so the pins donโt show, to my head with the little curled โoโ facing forward. Do this for all the curls except the last curl at the bottom***the one you curled towards your head*** . I tease the last curl bottom starting at the base of my scalp up to about half the hair length, then I smooth the outside with the teasing brush, curl the curl around my finger towards my head and pin the curl up and behind the curl mass I previously created, with the curl o facing front. You may need to randomly put some more pins in the curl mass to secure it. I donโt have to use a smoothing cream for any flyaways or hairspray to set everything any longer due to my new hair care regime, but donโt be afraid to use either if the hair isnโt looking as polished as youโd like it to and to make sure the curls donโt fall. I love this hair style because I can put the back in ponytails when itโs hot, wear it with the back down and free flowing or put the back up in a chignon to make it extra fancy.๐ฅณ The other cool thing about this style is if you wear a silk bonnet to bed and twist up the back in a bun to sleep, you can keep the style fresh and looking fabulous for up to 4 days! These curlers give the best set for this type of style because the curl lasts for days.๐ฅฐ I think this is a great set for the price and Iโm super glad I bought them, I just wish the ones that had come from Amazon were not damaged.๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ

LOVE THESE FOAM ROLLERS
CONAIR FOAM ROLLERS -- 48 COUNT OMG! I used this type of roller waaaaaaaay back in the 1960's and 1970's and loved them back then. I grew my hair out after having it short for over 30 years and decided to get some foam rollers for when I want to change up the style. We always called them curlers though....... This is a nice variety of 48 rollers. They come in four different sizes and are four different colors. The pink are the largest, the lime green next, yellow is smaller, and the blues are teeny tiny for shorter hair. There is a nice variety of each size. They come in a handy and sturdy zippered and see-through container for easy storage. And they look so pretty. These curlers are comfortable to sleep on. I use the smallest curlers on my shorter hair and where I want a tight and defined curl. Larger curlers are for volume, body, and waves. I have layered hair that almost reaches my shoulders. I mainly use the curlers on the tops and sides of my hair where I want some curls and waves. I like a hot mess look. My hair seems to do what it wants to do anyway and these curlers helps make it look really cute. Sometimes I put the rollers in while my hair is wet and then sleep on it. Other times I dry my hair a little bit, add some curlers and let it dry. Still other times I curl my hair when it is dry. I just add random curlers here and there, spray it with hair spray, leave them in and see what happens! The curls lasts a decent amount of time. I am sure the curls last differently for each person's type of hair. My hair happens to be thin and fine and after a while it goes a little flat. But that's OK -- the curlers seem to define my style and add to the overall good looks. These click right into place quickly, efficiently, and stay right where you place them. They also look pretty in your hair while you are using them. My grand babies love it when they come over and my hair is a rainbow of curler colors! Like I said, every time I use these curlers I use them differently! I have no rhyme or reason. I was glad that these foam rollers are still being made and made very well. The plastic is sturdy and I have never had a problem with the roller moving along the plastic band. They are easy to use. They are comfortable to sleep in. You are in control of the rollers! This is a great product that has been around forever. They work, they last, and they make your hair look great! Highly recommended!!!!

Did Curl My Hair, But I Had Some Issues
I have longer-than shoulder length, thick hair. It's somewhat straight and somewhat wavy, but neither in a good way. I towel-dried my hair, applied a volumizing mousse, and then set my hair in these. I used the pink ones (largest) for the top/crown of my hair, the green (second largest) for the sides of my hair, the yellow (second smallest) for the underneath layers, and the blue (smallest) for the pieces in the back near my neck. My hair felt nearly-dry by the time I had all of these rollers in. I left them in for seven hours and just to be sure my hair was dry I moved a blowdryer set on high all over my head for a full ten minutes. I then blasted my hair with cold air from the blowdryer and let it sit for a few minutes before removing the rollers. My hair was NOT fully dry (told ya it was thick!) but it was very curly and springy. Lots of volume & lift at the roots, too. I did have several kinks in my hair and there were a few rollers that I had to yank out of hair due to it becoming entangled on the roller and/or the clip part. Luckily you can completely disassemble the roller while it is in your hair, otherwise I probably would have had to cut a few of them out. This could have been my own mistake, as this was my first time using foam rollers. I tried to keep the portion of hair proportionate to the size of the rollers and to roll them neatly, so I'm not sure where I went wrong on the tangled ones. Because my hair wasn't fully dry and because it had kinks in it, I had to straighten it with a flat iron before leaving the house. It would have lost the curl and frizzed out as it dried - no thanks! I think with some practice and longer time to dry, that these have potential. Because of my hair length and thickness, I would have preferred no blue (small) rollers and a lot more pink (largest) and green (second largest) rollers.

Not horrible for sleeping in.
I've been using these for a few weeks now, and here are my thoughts. 1.) Your hair must be the correct dampness for these to work. It might vary depending on your hair texture, but in my experience, the curls will not hold if my hair is too wet, and they also will not hold if I put them in my hair while it is completely dry. Your hair must be slightly damp, but not so damp that it isn't able to dry fully by the morning. It is a tightrope to walk. 2.) The more sections you do, the more curls you will get. This may seem obvious, but yeah, you get more volume if you take the time to make smaller sections. 3.) if you wind very tightly, it will warp the foam. Some of my rollers have indentations in the middle because I wound my hair too tightly on accident. I'm not sure if there is a way to reset the foam, so it is something to be careful of. And of course they will flatten slightly as you are sleeping in them because of the weight of your head. 4.) These are easier to use than I expected. I had never used rollers before and was able to get great results on my first try. I am in no way talented with hair styling, in fact this is my way of making my hair look good without any effort because it is something I really struggle with--but as a self-proclaimed fashion person, hair and makeup sort of go with that, so I must make some effort, for the sakes of my outfits. All in all, I do like these. I'm not sure about their longevity, or if they are something that will just need to be replaced periodically. The integrity of the foam does change over time. They do make beautiful curls.

Love these rollers!!
Great rollers!! I have thick frizzy chin length hair. I usually set it with regular rollers and sit under a dryer. These rollers give me the option to set over night without heat. I get a tighter curl but can relax it with a gentle blow dry. The clips are nice and sturdy and rollers stay in place. My only suggestion is that the zipper on the case be along the width of the case to allow easier access to the smaller rollers

Gets the job done
One of the biggest size rollers has fallen apart, but other than that these work perfectly. I don't think durability needs to be perfect, because at this price point you can easily get another set. I appreciate the packaging/zippered case, as I've ordered other foam rollers that came with no case at all. Of the two foam roller sets i've ordered from amazon, i would choose this one again.

Jolis bigoudis

Excellent rollers, don't buy cheap ones - even suitable for locs!
I have my Mum's old sponge rollers in the past with relaxed hair and found them easy to use. I have also used perm rods on shoulder length locs before and they worked well if you left them in for a couple of days but they weren't comfortable. However, I had never used sponge rollers on medium length locs before. These work a treat. All the sizes will work with them, just use common sense and only roll one or two locs with the smallest size. The largest size will take 4 or 5 locs at a time. I was able to do my whole head and still have rollers left over. Your hair needs to be damp before you use these - a good time to use them is either after you have washed your locs or spritzed them with a mixture of Rosewater and Vitamin E. so that they are damp. The plastic on these rollers are strong and have a really good snap sound to them. They are nice and secure in your hair and are easy to use. They are also pretty comfortable to sleep in - just remember to wear a satin scarf or bonnet as always. I left them in for nearly two days and it was nice and comfortable. It's definitely worth paying more for better rollers. Your curls will be worth it.
