Bin the smart watch.
Gives you all the benefits of fitness tracking without having to wear a tacky smart watch.I've not used Fitbit before, but have heard from other users that the app isn't great since Google bought them out. They have at least (in the last few weeks) added the option for custom foods for calorie tracking. Thankfully the Google Health app can ingest data from elsewhere, including my preferred calorie logging app - Samsung Health. So, the Google part can just be used for checking rather than inputting.Setup was simple, it just requires you to keep your phone near the device for a while. As for usage - once set up it just does its thing and you get all the typical metrics you'd see from most fitness apps.Activity logging seems good, but don't expect speedy live data beyond steps and heartbeat. This isn't for people who absolutely cannot perform any movement without constant telemetry. Last week I went on a casual 3 mile walk (roughly an hour). I didn't get the notification of my "workout" until 15 minutes after I got home. The data is there and it is tracking, but it isn't in a hurry to make that known. This can be slightly annoying as the steps are all shown, but it won't show specific activities until you get notified and perform a sync. You can of course get round this by manually triggering workouts in the app.Fine if you just want basic activity tracking. The 5 day battery life means you don't have to think about the device too much.

Good affordable upgrade
Been using it for 8 days now , light on wrist and very comfortable.Sleep data is accurate and insightful, identifying naps in an amazing way and much better than other sport watches.Good choice if you are looking for an affordable reliable upgrade to your sport watch.

Brilliant for the price, does everything you could want!
A really great fitness tracker. It’s great not to have to think about charging very often (an hour every ten days). Unlike the whoop it’s thin so definitely easier to wear continuously, I barely notice I’m wearing it to be honest. The app is good, the included three month trial of Google Health Premium is a nice thing to try out but I’m not going to continue that afterwards as I don’t need the AI coaching, that said, it’s very good at what it does and can help you with everything from food to gym routines. For the price, it’s well worth buying if you want to track everything without the screen or ridiculous subscription of the Whoop strap.

The Best Value!
I bought the Google Fitbit Air primarily to help improve my sleep and fitness, and at this price point, it’s easily one of the best value fitness trackers you can buy. You don't need an extra subscription to use it and it's thin and lightweight enough to take everywhere. It fits well and connects easily to my device too! Plus, the band it comes with looks neutral enough to blend in with pretty much any outfit. The standout feature for me has been Smart Wake. Having the option to be woken up at your lightest stage of sleep within a 30-minute window of your set alarm has genuinely helped me wake up feeling less groggy. The sleep score on the Google Health app is also decently in line with how I actually feel, even if it isn't 100% accurate. On the fitness side of things, it automatically detects longer walks and general workouts well, though it doesn't always identify the specific activity. The main drawback is that it seems to overstate step counts by roughly 2 to 15%, which can be a noticeable difference on busier days.As for the software, the Google Health UI is very simple and easy to use. It’s great if you’re just starting out and want high-level health insights without being overwhelmed, though it might feel a bit basic for anyone looking for complex data. Luckily, the recent integration with the Bevel app helps a lot by adding much deeper analytics to those core metrics.Durability-wise, it has held up nicely. It’s already survived a few drops and hasn't shown any sign of deterioration from daily sunscreen use.I ended up taking off one star for the slight step inaccuracy. The Amazfit Helio Strap goes a bit further on precision for a slightly higher price, but because that model lacks the Smart Wake feature, I chose the Fitbit instead. For the overall value you get, it’s a fantastic option.

It's not a Whoop band but you probably don't need a whoop band
So I've had this for about a week now and I've seen a lot of mixed reviews. A lot of complaining that there "isn't enough data" or the "AI is too in your face". There is plenty of data, you need to wear it for a while for it to calibrate and give you the data but realistically, if you are a data driven athlete who understands what every data point means, you most likely do not have the requirement for an £85 wrist monitor. Go get a better device like a Garmin, Coros or Hume/Whoop.The AI integration is where this thing shines. Sure you're giving a fair bit of information to Google but they probably have it already so relax. The AI Coach allows you to, easily and in plain language, communicate how you feel, how you're recovering, what muscles hurt etc etc and it'll dynamically adjust the workload for the day or week. It's able to take a long term goal and chop it up into short term milestones without you needing to spend hours on research. Quite simply put, you get to be the athlete and it gets to be the coach.Hardware wise, the HR monitor is accurate, the step tracking is a little off on longer activities but outside of a GPS enabled running watch, they kind of all are. Battery life is as advertised and the charging speed is decent, pop it on charge while you shower and it'll be most of the way to 100%. Sleeping with the band is much easier than with a smart watch and no bright shining screen to wake you up.If you want a straight forward get fit, stay fit solution where you have the option of just doing what you're told. This is it.

Needs improvement
Had the product since launch and here is my review after about 3 weeks of wearing this thing pretty much continuouslyThe band looks good and is mostly comfortable to wear, but it is quite fiddly to put on, but when on it is secure. The material is supposedly waterproof. I have tried showering with the band on and it takes a long time to dryBattery life seems to be on par with what is advertised around 6-7 days and it charges quick with an apple 20 watt chargerNow lets talk about the appI think it needs to be redesigned with bigger and more customisable stats/data, for example I want to see heart rate way bigger than what is shown in the current version of the app and you should be able to drag and dropIt also needs to be simplified overall, just way too much going on, quite overwhelming. I would prefer a more graphical interface with more charts with less text, speaking of, there is too much text and ai slop that repeats itself, personally I don’t find it particularly helpful. Be careful what you discuss with it because like an elephant, it never forgetsThe sleep tracking seems all over the place sometimes saying that I had barely any rem sleep but I can remember dreaming, and personally I find it quite uncomfortable to wear to bed, something about it makes by wrist itchy and inflamedThe readiness score seems to be completely arbitrary tooOverall I find wearing the device adds unnecessary anxiety to my life and going forward, I will probably only wear it when working out to track heart rate, steps and calories.

Light and unobtrusive
This is my third Fitbit. Each one has been an upgrade. At first it was weird not seeing data, but I soon got used to it. The device is light and waterproof (no more worrying about changing settings) and subtle. It’s not as fancy as a Whoop, but it does everything I want it to.

Maybe the best fitness tracker?
Absolutely love this! It's so light and comfortable that I often forget I'm wearing it. The battery life has been great, and the Google Health app has been like having a personal trainer on my wrist. It's really helped me stay motivated and stick to a regular workout routine. Definitely one of my best purchases this year!
