I bought this camera to use as a point and shoot and it does very well for this type of photography. I also wanted the low light capability with the 1" sensor. This camera is capable of taking great point and shoot pics or if you are wanting to play with more technical aspects of photography, it has that capability also. The zoom is limited but if you edit your photos, you do have a lot of flexibility in enlarging digitally. We travel a lot and I enjoy the photography of our travels. We just returned from two weeks visiting castles and cathedrals and I was very pleased with the photos that I shot. A $200 - $300 camera just can't do what this camera can. This camera is a little heavier than I anticipated, but not excessive. You will need to go on line and download and print the manual. The reviews I read that rated this camera low, I believe were due to not reviewing the manual. It's a great camera, but a little pricey. I would purchase it again.

Very well made, durable, protective, and accessible. USB port and screen fold-out fully useable without loosening or removing case. As with any camera case of this type, the battery and SD card access on the bottom of the camera require removing the case. This is not a design flaw, it's the nature of where Sony placed the access door for them -- a decision, no doubt, based on the overall size of the camera and available exterior surface next to adjoining interior space. XEVN's case design is as good as it gets for this camera.

I took one star off because I cannot verify that this is actually mostly leather. Otherwise It's a fantastic case for the Sony rx100. I ordered and kept the competitor's case that has access to the battery/SD card compartment, even though it doesn't look as smart as this one. Removing the whole case for every battery swap is annoying. This camera is reputed to blow through batteries. Both cases have a slanted tops that bother me. The one I'm keeping looks even worse, but I want that battery access. I think the circular lens blister is just too close to the top of the case, so they have to give it extra room in the front. Also, both cases have a pretty thick base plate. I provided photos that hopefully illustrate evidence that this is another cheap Chinese faux leather product. Unlike real, quality leather, it will start out looking really nice and age poorly. Evidence: Thick plastic coating on the edges; Strap loop is folded over instead of proper leather edge stitching; Strap has a velvety artificial liner sewn to the backside; Total absence of any natural marks that all genuine leather has. At best, this is reconstituted leather with an artificial "grain" pattern, and at worst it's simply vinyl or some other synthetic.

There are similarly price versions of this case, but this one is better made with higher grade materials, and is better looking. It also fits the camera like a glove - the competitor (which I owned, was a poor fit). The only problem is that the hole left in the bottom of the case to line up with the small mic is not perforated all the way through. I was able to fix that with a wooden Q-tip swab handle, though.

Really good, and protects my camera well Just a few gripes with it. If you use it with a tripod or a vlogging handle, the button is in the way of the Sony vlog tripod. So you can't button it up while the handle is on. Wish the button was out further a few millimeters. Also, the screw is small on the bottom, so it doesn't let the camera to sit stable on a tripod. Otherwise, a great little protector for sure.

Just to clear I seldom comment on products but this is outstanding. While it is not leather, the case feels and looks like the real thing with excellent construction and fit. It fits my RX 100 VI perfectly and as a plus it works with a haze filer attached as the case allows a perfect fit preventing the adhesive mounted filter adapter ring (3ed party) from pulling off... As I said the product is outstanding and perfectly matches the RX 100 VI but your experience may be different with different models...

Beautiful and functional, allowing photos with the camera still attached to the case. One of the country's biggest dealers, from whom I bought my RX100 VII, included a case about twice as big and having a belt loop. By the time you have dug into such a bag the photo opportunity likely has passed.

Item came used in a box that was half falling apart. It is not real leather and smells like plastic. The fact that they think it’s OK to send used item in a home repackaged box is absolutely unacceptable. I’m returning and never buying again. More Chinese crap

Excellent camera case for the Sony RX camera.It looks good, protects the camera and is easy to use and is certainly better than my previous case that attached to my belt. When in use I leave it around my neck and just unclip it when I want to take a photo.

this means the case can not be fixed to the camera, so have to remove it totally to take any photos.
