Mycelium in the bag!
For everyone having trouble growing these: at least some knowledge of the mushroom's life cycle is necessary. (Check Youtube) You can't just sprinkle this on your yard and get morels in a few weeks. Mine has already begun to colonize in the bag that was in my office drawer. This tells me that they are viable spores. I will buy more, do a slurry and and pour it on a prepared bed. Looking forward to it!

2 years of nothing
Following the instructions I attempted to grow these 2 years ago, to date nothing has shown up in my mushroom bed. Throw away 10 bucks on sawdust if you want to. Call the Morel fickle if you want to. Prove me wrong...

Highly skeptical, but I’ll try it once
A small bag of pine shavings with some tiny black bits in it. It is very dry with no mycelium type of scent. I have grown morel in the past and I and highly skeptical about this, but I prepared it with filtered water and put it in my yard. I live in MAssachusetts and my yard is perfect for mushrooms so we will see. Had I known what it consisted of I wouldn’t have bought it based off of my past experiences with growing morels. I would think the black bits are just ground up dried morels, but they are way too black and hard. I just have doubts about this one.

Gave it a Five but time will tell
Followed the directions and am praying they come up next spring. I live in an area where they do grow. Just have to wait until the Lilacs bloom, which I have a ton of. Plus some perfect areas to grow them. I just want them in my backyard. They are so good to eat.

Not Optimistic
If you’re looking to grow your own morels, hopefully you’ve done enough homework to realize this is a long-game with no guarantees. I see it similar to a lottery ticket. Sure, it’s an unlikely gamble but the amusement from the price is still worth it and the payoff would be a huge bonus if it does, in fact, grow. That being said, I purchased a bag of these previously and they came professionally sealed and looked like mostly large sawdust shavings with small black bits that I assumed were spores. There were no instructions there but I was able to come to Amazon and find them. They’ve been spread per the instructions and I’m still hopeful, though it’s too soon to tell. I purchased 2 more kits because I found another area that would be very suitable and figured why not try! I just received the new kits today and they look nothing at all like the other did. They just look like dirt with something mixed in inside a ziplock baggie! I’ve gotta say, it’s hard to feel confidence with this presentation. But at least this time it included instructions? I’m going to prepare them and spread them regardless but I do wish there was some consistency. This was the same exact listing for the same product yet the items varied significantly. Hard to say exactly what you will get, which isn’t great.
