この本は応用言語学の入門書です。本書は４部構成になっており、第１部は応用言語学の概観について記されており、第２部はStudy　Questionがついた短い読み物が章毎に分けて記されており、第３部は参考文献が記されており、第４部は本書に掲載されている専門用語の解説になっています。ページ数も多くなく、英語もあまり難しくないので非常に読みやすいです。応用言語学を勉強される際の副読本として利用されることをお勧めします。
