I dont understand what the difference is between using the reset button or not. Either way it’ll restart as battery charges. What am I missing here?

When I had troubles getting it to connect with my computer I had to use the reset as part of the process the tech walked me through to fix the problem. Also had to use it when I first set it up on my phone as it would not "turn on" when I tapped the screen...just kept giving me the website address.
