Delighted to be able to keep my microwave!
I’m a very happy camper! I had the same problem others had - microwave functioned, but wasn’t heating food. Replaced the magnetron, and now works great and sounds the same to me. No noticeable noise differences. Replacement of the part itself was easy. Now getting the microwave down, cover back on, and it back up to its original space – that was a different story. But, totally worth the effort to keep my microwave and keep the LCD screen matching the one on my existing stove. The aesthetics in the kitchen were THAT important to me. After calling Samsung for help, no service/repair folks were available in my area. And other local servicemen within a 300 mile radius frankly didn’t want to work on it, and many said the service call price of labor would make it cost ineffective. Several recommended I just buy a new microwave. Seemed wasteful to me, and after watching a YouTube video I thought why not try it. I figure I saved at a minimum $300, as $350 was the lowest priced microwave that would fit into the space with exhaust, and possibly $600, compared to other brands that met my “must have” categories. For me, getting the cover back on and microwave back into its place was a two-person job, and took up a majority of the effort. But the microwave was a bugger to put in originally, so maybe it’s just me. Anyway, I’m absolutely delighted to be able to keep my matching microwave!

Probably cheaper and easier than a warranty claim to Samsung
Called about getting a warranty replacement on a microwave magnetron that was 5 years into a 10 year warranty. Rep told me to order a new one and that I could call back and have the cost reimbursed. I thought this sounded suspiciously easy and painless so I confirmed, "Just buy a replacement magnetron off of Amazon and have it installed and you'll reimburse me the cost?" "Yes." I followed the instructions, the part came the next day, I had it installed and I was wowed by how easy it was to get the microwave working again. The part appears to be new, genuine, and works as expected when installed. This morning, I've been on the line with this phone number for hours and they're refusing to reimburse me the cost of the part. I've talked to many different people, many of whom were "supervisors," though I've spent most of my time on hold. They tell me that the information I was given two days ago by their rep was incorrect and they can't find a record of a call (even though "this call is being recorded for quality and training purpose," always). Nobody at Samsung has the authority here to make an exception to their policy so apparently it's my fault for following their instructions and I have to pay for the cost of the replacement. They just keep parroting their policy and offering their condolences. I was also hung up on by them and then they texted me a closed ticket notification after hanging up on me again. Samsung doesn't Care. Total waste of time. That said, it sounds like actually following their process costs hundreds of dollars anyways, so maybe I got off easy. So take note, our Samsung appliance warranties are basically useless. With this in mind, I wouldn't ever buy an appliance from Samsung again.

Microwave back in action!
Replaced with this part on a 4 year old Samsung bespoke microwave. Works fine and the microwave is back in action. Not happy about the Samsung microwave breaking down in 4 years, not a good look.

Don’t buy a new microwave, FIX It with this
Finally after a full week and a half of troubleshooting and replacing other parts finally hit with the problem. Microwave wasn’t heating but was turning on. When it kick to heat would trip my house breaker. Anyways this fixed it and didn’t have to spend almost $400 on a new one. Good price and easy install.

Perfect Fit, My Microwave lives on!!! :-)
I was a bit skeptical as the Samsung website sells these for around $155 plus, but this seller had a brand new one listed for around $71 dollars. I figured I could just return it if it did not work out due to Amazon's wonderful return policy, and it was just $20 more than the generic ones which had mixed reviews. The item arrived packed nicely with ample cushioning inside the box to protect it during shipping. It is a Samsung OEM product and a direct match to the dead Magnetron installed in my microwave, all screw holes matchuped as well, a Perfect fit. I swapped out the old one with this new one, tested the microwave and now my Microwave lives on! Yay!!! My microwave from Samsung is past the one year warranty, but the Magnetron which has a 5 year warranty, passed on in about 3.5 years only. I contacted Samsung so they could send me a replacement but they were in no mood to honor their warranty: told me that they would have to find a local Samsung Certified Technician come have a look, then he would order the part, I would pay for shipping and labor. I told them to go ahead and schedule a Samsung technician, got a confirmation that I would receive a call from him to schedule a time for the visit. 1 day later I got a call from Samsung, they were unsuccessful in finding a Samsung Certified Technician, I should look for a "Certified Microwave Technician" in my area, and have him contact them with the diagnosis, and then they would the "consider" sending the replacement out...they can not send the part directly to me. So, I consulted my good friends: Google and Youtube :-), The good folks on the internet assured me that I was more than capable of repairing the Microwave on my own. The hardest part was removing the Microwave from the over the stove mount :-). And very important for my fellow DIYers: Make Sure To Discharge the Deadly High Voltage Inside the Microwave Properly!! Thanks Google, Youtube, and the helpful good folks on the Internet!!!

Worked great for my ME21M706BAG Samsung microwave.
My microwave started making a horrible buzzing sound and stopped heating. After some research, I found that this was a common failure point for the symptoms I was having. Replacement was relatively easy. About 20 screws total and then the panel comes off and the part is easily accessible. $100 vs $500 for a new unit.

Identical part
This magnetron cost more than others that I saw. However, this one was identical to the part I removed. There’s nothing worse than getting a part with extra wires or connections. I simply replaced this module and the microwave is good to go. I am only bothered by the fact That the original part only lasted 3 1/2 years. We basically defrost and heat with our microwave. We do not actually cook food so I thought it was a little problematic that this part failed.

Samsung Microwave. This part resolved the issue.
My microwave stopped heating... making a loud buzzing noise. Although the old one tested good I still replaced it. It’s fixed. Boom. Thank you YouTube.
