Melissa & Doug Let's Play House! Grocery Shelf Boxes

This set of grocery boxes is a lot of fun to play with. I bought felt and pompoms and pipe cleaners to make items to put inside them, to make it more fun for my son, so they're not just empty boxes. They open easily and children can be taught to close them. Much more affordable than sets of play food already made for you, but you have to have some creativity and skill to make the grocery items to put into the boxes. It worked for what I wanted!

Got these to go into our daughters’ M&D grocery store! The details on these (like everything M&D) are stunning! This is like a thick cardboard! If you have kids who are rough with their toys or are younger- I’d be a little hesitant to get this because it can be squished or ripped. My girls (ages 7 and 3) play wonderfully with these items and we haven’t had any “uh-ohs”! We’ve had for almost 2mo now. I hope this review has helped someone.

I am a kindergarten teacher and have a classroom store for my students. These items are such a great addition to what we already have from the Melissa and Doug collection. I have had these for the last 2 years and they are still in such great condition. In the picture you can see the size comparison to the condiment items from Melissa and Doug. I bought 3 sets for my students "store shelf". I wanted them to have a grocery store that had more than 1 of each item. I did have to add some weight to the boxes by putting dry black beans in the box and taping the top and bottom of it so that it didn't fall over easily on the shelf. The wooden building frame and shelves are bamboo shoe racks that I purchased from amazon and are the perfect height for Kindergarteners!

Good for pretend play. But just a bunch of empty boxes with food pictures printed on them. So if you’re looking for sturdy this isn’t for you. Depending on how rough your kid is when playing or how long you want them to last. Bought for my 2 year old with her new pretend kitchen. Can’t get wet because cardboard and empty so we will see how long they last.

I bought these for my one and two year old granddaughters . They are just starting imaginary play and enjoy making foods for their babies. They’re just the right size for little hands and the materials are sturdy for opening and “pouring” the foods. Except for the bite few marks, they still look great.

I bought this and other Melissa & Doug items and this was a great gift. It went well with the grocery store that I bought my grandchildren for Christmas.

My grandson will love playing with these grocery boxes with his grocery store! They are so cute!

Purchased a ton of these and similar items for our daughters play room kitchen set up. She's constantly making us food and just loves them. Was able to get these and about nine other boxes of stuff and put out for her over a weekends time. She didn't know where they came from, but each day she found a new set of "play food". Keeps her entertained for hours.

The grocery boxes look so real and comes in a decent size. I wish they are more designs coz I would definitely buy them

If you already have a grocery store set up or shopping basket from Melissa and Doug and are looking for additional food, you know the card board is super soft and can get crushed pretty easily. Aside from them not being really sturdy or strong I’m still really happy with this product. I have a large container I put all the food into when we are done playing with it so my son doesn’t wreck them or my dog doesn’t walk on them.

Great pretend food boxes however it was so expensive essentially for just cardboard. I can’t fault the size, quality or presentation. Just wish it was a little cheaper.

Great product holds up fantastic with my rough 3 year old. All of my kids love playing with the grocery store item 12,9&3. Plus any kids that have ever babysat love the grocery store items too.

Melissa & Doug is always Very good quality . Got it the next day. My Grandchild loves it.
