I bought 4 for a recent camping trip and spent a week catching crabs. They work great at catching but removing the crabs are another story but for the price i have no complaints.

I bought two versions of this. A black set and this colored set. I like both equally well. This is a well built heavy duty trap that appears to have had a lot of time taken to ensure its construction. I have not used it yet but I can tell this will hold up to dragging on rocky lake creek bottoms. A unique quality about this trap is the door hatch to empty it. Other similar traps do not even discuss how to empty them. I assume they expect you to stick your hand in the entry holes and risk getting clamped by the crawfish. This trap solves that issue with the open hatch. Excited to use it. Very happy so far.

This product is suitable for crabs only due to the designs of the entrance which is not easy for crawfish and shrimp to enter. Crabs have the power to enter, but not crawfish and shrimp.The bait bags come with the traps are not easy to use because of its net structure to only hold big pieces of baits. Also. the bait bags are a little small.There are two thin ropes included which are too thin to be really handy. If you caught some crabs, thicker ropes would be better to haul the traps in without hurting your hands.Overall, the design is okay and would help you catch some crabs if you use the right bait.

My spouse and I purchased this 2 pack for our kids to use while staying on the Intercoastal waterway on the NC coast. The traps worked great, and took a fair amount of abuse, as my kids 6 and 9, aren't the most gentle with things. We didn't use the included bait bag, but instead just tossed in the bait (we used chicken gizzards, and frozen mullet) tied the top shut, attached the traps to the cleat on the dock with the supplied rope, and tossed them in. Crabs showed up in the trap within 15 minuets. We also left the traps soaking overnight most nights during the week we visited. So far I haven't noticed any corrosion from the salt water, or any fraying of the netting material the trap is made of. Once we got home I did give them a good rinse down with fresh water, but they are still in great condition, and I'm sure they will accompany us on the next several trips to the beach.In the traps, we caught Blue Crabs, small hermit crabs, and a Stone Crab. We also would get the occasional Pinfish in the traps when we left them soaking overnight.Removing the crabs from the traps was the only slightly challenging part, as they had a tendency to hang on to the netting, but we found that opening the top of the trap, turning it upside down and lightly dropping it on the dock would shake them loose. As we were only doing catch and release, the crabs would make it to the end of the dock and fall back into the water if left alone. We did get a cheap pair of tongs to handle the crabs with, and they worked ok, although the previous method of "dumping them out" was much faster, and we'd just picked up the leftover bait with the tongs and put it back into the trap.I highly recommend these traps, especially if you have inquisitive kids.

Our boys are super into crabbing and this trap is perfect for all their adventures! Love that it collapses down!

Seen some reviews saying this not good.... well I have to say that this was absolutely fantastic!!! I have caught so many Dungeness crabs and 110% happy with this purchase ☺️

I had fairly low expectations of this trap to be honest but since it was inexpensive I decided to give it a try. I've been pleasantly surprised at how well it performs and how well it is constructed. It's not nearly as cheap and flimsy as I expected it to be; it's actually quite well made. The fact that it collapses on itself for storage and transport is a nice touch. You can fit it in a backpack, kayak storage compartment, wherever. And it does indeed catch things. I've caught fish and crabs with it so far. Overall pleased and may just buy another one.

Good net but not good for saltwater use or places with high current . This is a freshwater net only.
