Good thermal and very solid build quality
I am very satisfied with its build quality and thermal performance. Mostly metal construction (at least it feels and looks like it) and the plastic (poly carbonate I think) feels good too. Keyboard is awesome, so is the screen. Battery is not the greatest but can usually get 2-3 hours doing some light work/web browsing on a 80-100% charge. Performance wise it is awesome as you would expect from a full 1060, and fan noise isn't too bad unless you put it on "overboost". Zephyrus M with a full 1070 will perform better, but considering that's 300 or 400 dollars more expensive, I think this 1060 version is a very good purchase compared to the other one. Overall, I love this laptop so far and give it a 5/5.

Superb gaming machine!
The only bad thing about this laptop is really that the ac adapter is a literal brick. laptop is thin and pretty light but since it has a low battery life of around 3h u have to lug the adapter around if u r using it for school. also when gaming the fans do get pretty loud but if you're wearing headphones it shouldn't be a big problem.

Best Laptop I've Owned
This is by far the best laptop that I have owned. I have not had any issues out of this device other than the fact that it only comes with single channel memory (one stick) of 16GB. The laptop powers on and off quickly, the air flow design allows for the device to run cool, though does get a little loud. The responsiveness of the machine while in use is amazing. The only other complaint that I have is that when I received it one of the edges that cover the hinges of the screen was cracked and fell off shortly after, but that was more amazon shipping then the product its self.

2 year user review
computer has held up exceptionally well over 2 years. DO NOT SPEND 1900$ on this laptop it is not worth that much. Battery life is poor when running anything less than powersaver mode.

Serious Design Issues, Poor Customer Support
The specification on the GU501GM are good on paper, and the gaming performance is generally good. Historically, I have been happy with ASUS products, as my nearly six year old GL551 keeps on ticking after heavy daily use for 10-12 hours a day at work and home. If the GU501 laptop was not fatally flawed, I would recommend it. After struggling to fight against recurring issues, I have to strongly caution you against purchasing this product. Here's the long and short of it with a more detailed description below. - Keyboard is glitched, unsupported, and non-functional. -Recurring issues with motherboard and headphone jack. -Serious screen bleed and overall poor screen brightness even compared to my five year old machine. -Tech support being clunky, and failure to repair problems after two RMA returns and nearly $150 of shipping expense on my part. Immediately upon booting this laptop up out of the box, I had a recurring issue. The keyboard would not function. No backlighting, and no inputs. After much frustration, I was able to boot up windows using the screen based keyboard. About 15 minutes after login, the keyboard finally decided to boot up. This continued to be a problem. Whenever the computer went to a hard shut down or sleep, the keyboard would take 10-15 minutes to wake up after windows rebooted. This seems to be an issue with the - rather nifty - backlighting software (Aura Lighting) which is EXTREMELY buggy. There are a series of drivers on the ASUS website as well as several attempts at hotfixes for what seems to be my specific issue. However, Windows really struggled to accept the updates, and even extensive attempts to use CMD Prompt often failed to achieve a good install. There were no instructions, and tech support was useless. The screen was also extremely dim and there was significant bleeding around the edges. Then the headphone jack died. I sent in for an RMA, which cost $150 with insurance to ship. The computer was returned in less than 10 days, but the jack died AGAIN a week after repair. I returned the laptop a second time. This time, the RMA was free. According to the repair invoice included in the box on return, the techs MAY have replaced the motherboard. It wasn't entirely clear. However, the Keyboard issue cropped up again almost immediately. It seems that every time Windows updated, the Aura software was bugged. After three hours with help from a IT professional family member, was able to get this running smoothly for about a week, until the keyboard again went into it's extended sleep issues. I tolerated this by just keeping it from ever powering off or sleeping, as the manufacturer warranty had now expired after six months. Then, yesterday, about 8 months after purchase, the keyboard is completely dead. Installing and reinstalling drivers is of no avail. Nothing seems to work. Aura seems completely glitched out and there's nothing I can do. ASUS wants me to do a factory reset or something.... They act as if they've never heard of this problem before, even though there's a hotfix on their website that doesn't work. I am giving up and trying to use the extended warranty I purchased from a third party. I will probably not go with ASUS again, even though I REALLY wanted to like this computer, I just can't anymore.

Little Tractor
Powerful little machine. Have used it for Ac origins in very high settings and it flows like a breeze. Keep it on all day to play YouTube videos while downloading, and there's not an overheating problem, or a problem with the speakers. I vouch for this laptop.
