Very Comfortable Sandal
This is the second pair of these sandals I have owned. The first lasted about 4 summers but I left them in a motel so lost them. Tried a differend brand/style but had to return. They were not as good as these. What do I like?? The Velcro attaches over top of the instep for easy on and off. The biggest thing I like is that these sandals actually have good arch support. Most sandals I've tried are very poor in this feature. The material and soles of my old pair held up very well. Best sandal I ever had. I'd still be wearing them if I hadn't lost them. I'm a size 8 1/2 usually but had to buy a 9. They fit me fine. Well woth trying if you want a good sandal.

Good value/very versatile
I tried out my first pair these tevas around 11 months ago and have wore them almost every day since. Firstly they fit true to size, and have great foot arch support. But at first they did cause minor irritation on my achilles heel which caused a couple blisters but after they broke in, it wasnโt an issue. I use them in the Garden a ton and do some moderate hiking in them too. They have great traction and are breathable as well. These sandals are good for using for just about anything but I loved having them when going to hot springs or swimming the most. After almost a year the exterior is starting to delaminate on the right sandal and the bottom of the back ankle strap had snapped apart from constant wear n tear, on the left sandal. This doesnโt really affect it from functioning though so Iโd say they have a durable design.

Conmfortable. Well Made
These are about the only shoes I can wear anymore. I have problems walking - lifting my feet off the floor is tough for me. I wanted a closed toed sandal so the front of the shoe would be less likely to catch on rungs, etc. These shoes are very durable, but eventually I wear the heels down and I have to get a new pair. The strap across the instep starts to twist around the D ring after a while, so I can't just pull it across and expect it to grip correctly. Not the end of the world. the rest of the construction has never given me any problems. this is my 3rd pair (or 4th?). I need a lot of arch support, though. I am unable to fit my orthotics in to these. they fit slightly snug, but run true to size otherwise. The leather stretches so snugness isn't an issue for long. Plenty of toes room, but not excessive in my case.

I really want to love these, but...
I had a pair of Teva Deacon sandals, size 12, for many years. I LOVED those so much. They were so freaking comfortable to wear almost anywhere. I could go barefoot and not worry about the straps rubbing wrong on my feet. I could wear socks (highly stylish, I know..) and they were great in any weather except maybe snow. And, most importantly, they were broken in and I could slip on and off - that was wonderful! Now let's talk about these Forebays. Wife got me size 12 for Christmas. Could barely get them on, so exchanged for size 13. Much, much better fit. However, I am PRAYING that these continue to break in. After about 10 days, these are slowly stretching out a bit, and getting more comfortable to wear. But we are nowhere close to the old Deacons just yet. Three things are really bugging me. Not sure if they will improve or not. First, the ankle "hole" is quite a bit smaller on these Forebays. As mentioned, I expect they will expand a bit over time. But right now, I've got the strap that goes over the top of the foot only halfway attached. Hard to explain. Put it this way, I pulled back the velcro strap to open up the ankle hole as much as possible. Then I re-attached the velcro strap, but only covering about half of the strip (as I'm looking down on it). Even then, I am fighting HARD to *slip* my foot in with thick socks. With thin socks, it's a minor challenge. Barefoot, no issue. Second complaint. My pinky toe keeps catching on the holes. It's just in the wrong spot, where my pinky toe starts to pop out, especially when I'm seated. Then I stand up, and my foot moves forward just a bit - but my pinky toes are catching. Easy to adjust and fix, but annoying that it's happening at all. Did not happen with the old Deacons. Third issue. The footbed is just not as comfortable as my Deacons. Maybe that will improve over time, but it's just not as comfortable to take the dog for a walk in these Forebays, as it was my old Deacons. By comfortable, I mean the arch support is different, and I can feel where the strap is rubbing against my feet as I walk. No blisters - have walked 2mi many times in the past 10 days with these - but it just doesn't feel as comfortable. I'll keep them, as I've worn them outside. And they're OK. But what I wouldn't give for a model identical to my old Deacons...

Pleased with purchase: A 5 Star experience
The Forebay sandals are very similar to the 2 pairs of Teva's Dozer III sandal I purchased in 2012. In the attached photo, the Dozer III in the "Black Olive" color is on the left. The Dozer III Leather in the "Dark Earth" color is in the center. On the right is the new Forebay in "Turkish Coffee" which was delivered by Amazon yesterday, 1 day early. My favorite exterior is the Dozer III Leather due to the handsome appearance of the leather uppers. I prefer the Dozer III's darker "Black Olive" color to the Forebay's "Turkish Coffee." However I am satisfied with the medium-gray color of "Turkish Coffee." Based on comments by other reviewers I had feared that "Turkish Coffee" would be a light gray which would easily show scuff marks. One reviewer accurately commented that a close depiction of "Turkish Coffee" is shown on the Teva website for the Forebay sandal. After 12 years my two 2012 Dozer III sandals while still serviceable are showing their age with minor cracks, scuffing and wear on the soles. I bought the Forebay sandals because I thought it was time for a new pair of closed-toe sandals and the Amazon price was a good one. At first glance the Forebay and Dozer III appear identical; but they are not, due to slight variations in stitching and how the various pieces are cut and assembled. The differences would not be apparent to most people. I didn't notice them until I held the Dozer III and Forebay side by side. A minor complaint I have is that the design of the top Velcro strap on the Forebay makes the strap appear wide and chunky compared to the strap on the Dozer III. You can see the difference in width in the photo. However it is something I can live with. Because I have purchased about 6 different types of Teva's over the years, I had no hesitation in ordering my usual size 10. My new Forebay's fit fine. The workmanship by Teva workers in Vietnam is wholly acceptable. I am satisfied with the $49.95 purchase price. Most online vendors including Teva charge $70 for the Forebay. Please note my 5 star review does not evaluate the durability of the Forebay sandals because I have had them for only 1 day. Nonetheless I highly recommend them. Based on my experience with the 2 pairs of Dozer III's I predict the Forebay's will last for years.

Warning! Actual Product NOT the Brown as shown!
Although the shoe itself seems comfortable and sturdy, I can't give it more than 3 stars because of the poor representation by the photos. This is not Amazon's fault, but rather Tevas across all selling platforms, including their own website. It must be Pic of an older model, showing a nice, earthy brown. In reality, the shoe is a rather dull, grey clay color. Even the mesh strip down the tongue, or center of the shoe is a different color. And yet, the model# and name Turkish Coffee match on the shoebox. Teva clearly changed the color, lord only knows for what reason. Amazon had even processed a replacement in hopes there was a mixup but alas, 2nd pair was a same color. So, 5 stars to Amazon for getting a replacement out to me the next day, but 3 stars to Teva for misleading product details. Seriously, research this shoe from other sources, the pic and reality are different anywhere you can purchase it. The color is so DULL, I am deciding if I want to return the replacements as well for a refund. BOO!

Teva Sandals
Made well and comfortable.

Comfortable and well made.
Bought these to replace 2 older pairs of the same sandals. These are much improved, fit perfectly and are built to last. Really comfortable with very little break in period. Best sandals I have owned. Will buy again for sure.

Comfortable for light waking
Very comfortable with hardly any wearing-in. Great for most Singapore walks because the feet can breathe. Better than walking shoes. Probably not up to hiking in the hills but they aren't designed for that. I will definitely buy another pair when these wear out.

Good technical fisherman sandals
Bought from Amazon UK and have been wearing for about two months in Southeast Asia. So far they have been a good buy. I have wide feet and these sandals fit just right and true to size (normally wear 7 UK G fit and got Size 7 UK). I also have a pair of Langdon open-toe sandals and they fit about the same. I think if you already have a pair of Tevas you can order the same size. Obviously everyone has different feet, but for me these have been comfortable straight from the box, use them to walk an average of 5 miles everyday since day one and no blisters or any other issues. Have not experienced the heel scraping that many people have reported in the reviews. They are warmer in tropical weather than open-toe sandals, but have found them to be more versatile as have been able to get into some restaurants and bars in Asia that have a no sandal or flip flop dress code and they are much safer for hiking and water sports as your toes are protected. If you know they fit and are within your budget, I would recommend these sandals.
