I read other reviews before buying and found this to be exactly what I wanted and works as good as the best reviews said it would. It can be used to either transmit Bluetooth from a device, like an old TV or be a receiver of a Bluetooth signal to turn your old stereo amplifier into a Bluetooth enabled device. It also has a tremendous range as compared to any other Bluetooth device I have previously used. Another thing is can have an active paring with 2 devices at the same time. That means it can have 2 active Bluetooth sources of sound without having to do the traditional connecting routine to switch them back and forth. This is handy and works well. It won't actually play the two sources at the same time but is smart enough to know when one device is not sending sound it will automatically switch to the other source with no other human actions needed. There are other things that make this a good buy for people looking for a Bluetooth solution and that it has the capability to use the faster version of Bluetooth codex so that Youtube clips from a computer will display voice sounds with the mouth action at the same time. (Installing updated codex software for older computers might take a geek type person to help you with) The traditional Bluetooth pairing process is super fast and is intuitive to use. One note - receive range is up to 60 feet but most cases it will not actually go 60 feet. However the receive range of this device is the best I found. I don't know that there is a downside to this device that I have found so far in using it for over a week.

I'm using this to listen to my TV without disturbing the rest of the family. It's connected to an AV Receiver using the headphone jack, and set to Aux mode on the transmitter. Using it is simple. It paired up quickly with my headphones and each time I use it again, it renews the connection automatically. Sound quality is very good. I've been using a Sennheiser HDR 160 headphone with its own proprietary sending unit. The Sennheiser is a very good quality headphone, and when relatives gave me a new headphone with bluetooth connection, I had to buy a bluetooth transmitter. I was delighted that the Avantree Oasis is so easy to set up and the sound quality is so good. The Avantree connects to a power source via USB, and fortunately, the unit has an "on-off" switch so you can easily turn off the power while it's not in use. It contains no batteries, so it is not rechargeable. It must be plugged in to the USB whenever it's in use. This is not a problem. I prefer that it is not "live" all the time. The first time I turned it on, I had to set it for auxiliary use (rather than pass-through) and set the unit to transmit rather than receive. Both have obvious switches or buttons. This has the added feature of voice announcements giving instructions for what to do. The announcements can also be turned off. I can't say how much of the better sound quality I enjoy with my new headphones and the Avantree Oasis is attributable to the Bluetooth standard, the Avantree, or the new headphones, but they sound better than my Sennheiser HDR 160s. I cannot hear any artifacts. No hiss, clicks, or any other sound through my headphones. I assume that means any transmission noise with the BT standard is below the audible threshold. The range is not as far as expected. I get dropouts if I wear then in another room at the far end of my apartment, a distance of approximately 30 feet, and around a corner. There is no problem with straight line reception at that distance, and this never bothers me because I don't need the range. But keep this in mind if your transmitter is not in the same room as your headphones and listening position.

Worked great right out of the box no trouble connecting to my head phones. BUT unless there is nothing between the receiver and transmitter except fresh air You will not get max range. Even at 40 feet within my house there was loss of signal. I guess when they say 164 feet range it is obvious they mean unobstructed line of sight.

I emailed Avantree with technical questions prior to purchasing the Oasis transmitter. I received a response within 12 hours asking for additional details. The person I was emailing with went out of the office and another person actually called me the following day to discuss in more detail the application I was attempting. The tech recommended the Oasis for my application coupled with any one of their Aptx low latency receivers. I send with the Roxa Plus receiver. The problem I was solving was running a high end subwoofer from my stereo receiver, which is enclosed in a heavy cabinet, without any wires. I opted for the Roxa plus receiver for its simplicity and relatively clean look. I also purchased a pair of 3.55mm to RCA stereo cables to upscale the ones that came with each device. Installation was extremely simple, less than 3 minutes. The devices paired and have worked flawlessly. I have no noticeable delay in the bass from the subwoofer and have not experienced any issues at all. I did have to tune the subwoofer a bit in terms of volume to again match the rest of my audio setup, however that is a relatively easy process. Overall I'm very impressed with both the products I purchased as well as the support. I haven't tested the full range however for my scenario this is exactly what I was after and at a price that was actually lower than traditional wireless subwoofer kits that almost all report having issues with either signal interference, range, or powering on quick enough during periods where your movie doesn't have any bass. One side note, this doesn't apply for my scenario as I'm using the Aux (3.55mm input) however if you were using the Optical input on the Oasis then Dolby / DTS formats aren't supported.
