Extremely practical knowledge for all ages on financial subjects
Money: A Userโs Guide is one of those invaluable books that provides practical, down-to-earth financial knowledge rarely covered in traditional education. The author lays out essential concepts in a way thatโs easy to understand, covering everything from budgeting, saving, and investing to mortgages and pensions. This book has saved me countless hours of searching the internet for fragmented information and instead offers a well-organized, comprehensive guide to all things personal finance. Thatโs on my bookshelf whenever I need it. One of the bookโs best features is its clear, straightforward writing style, making even the most intimidating topics feel accessible. Whateleyโs approach is refreshing because itโs grounded in real-life applications, not just abstract theory. For young adults, or anyone just starting to navigate financial independence, this guide is especially helpful. It gives you the tools to make smart money choices early on, helping avoid costly mistakes down the line. Itโs helped me map out my years ahead, tackling debt and getting my credit score in a place thatโs ready for the best mortgage rates I can get. Something I wouldnโt know how to do without this practical book. Beyond its readability, the book is packed with valuable tips and strategies for long-term financial health. Whateley does a great job demystifying complex terms, and her advice is especially insightful. Itโs a book youโll want to revisit over the years, and itโs perfect for anyone who wants to take charge of their financial future.

Super practical and actually useful particularly for people living in the UK
This book is hands down one of the best personal finance guides Iโve come across. Money: A Userโs Guide cuts through the jargon and gives real, straightforward advice that actually makes sense, especially if you're in the UK. It covers all the basics (and then some): saving, investing, pensions, and credit scores, without being boring or preachy. Everything is explained clearly, and you donโt need a finance degree to understand it. One thing I really appreciated: the author includes the date of the information, so you know exactly when it was relevant. Super helpful if youโre reading it a bit later and want to double-check for updates. Honestly, this is the book if you want to get your money stuff sorted and feel a bit more in control

Very good yet simple overview
If you have no idea about money, this is definitely the book for you. If you already have some financial understanding, itโs nothing you donโt already know or canโt find out with a few clicks on the internet. Very well written and kept me engaged

A Brilliant Book. Absolutely Fantastic.
This book is so good that I think everyone in the UK should own a copy and be encouraged to read it annually. I also think that this book should be included within the high school curriculum for those in year 10 and 11, it would certainly be far more beneficial to young people who are about to start out in the world than subjects like history and geography. I am in my late 30's, run a business and have always felt well informed when it comes to money, however I have learned so much from reading this book that it has quite literally changed the way I think on many money related issues. After finishing the book I quite literally feel like I have just finished a year at college and passed the final exam with flying colours. As well as the practical benefits of this book, which are many, the book is thoroughly enjoyable, extremely interesting and very very well written. The book is so well written that I think everyone who reads this book will benefit from it regardless of their level of education. The book is so good that I have also downloaded the audiobook to listen when driving. I am extremely grateful to Laura Whateley for writing this book and then taking the time to update it.

EVERYONE must read this book
I am 18 years old and soon to embark the independent student life which I know comes with a lot of financial worry. I was keen to learn more about finances, budgeting and savings and heard this book was a great, easy-to-understand guide to learn more about money. I read this in a few days and I ADORED this book - so many financial concepts from different types of current accounts, saving accounts, taxes, pensions to budgeting skills that I never truly understood were cleared explained and now I feel like a total financial nerd, and loving it. The second part of the book was on Money and Love & Wellbeing and Laura felt like my big sister telling me how to feel about money, and making me feel empowered to take control of my finances. This book has taught me so much, and I feel much more in control with money. Knowledge is power, and this book gives you knowledge! Written in a digestible, light-hearted way with personal stories scattered throughout, I love this book and recommend to everyone, no matter how clued up you think you are with finance or how much you feel you are 'destined' to always be terrible with money. A must-read.

Decent beginner information but bland
I skipped half the book because the information was not relevant to me and most of the useful stuff was sort of glossed over and not explained in any detail at all. Decent read if you know absolutely nothing about anything. The text itself wasn't very engaging and quite bland. Wasn't really worth ยฃ4 as all the information is easy to find online.
