Penguin Chick (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science)

I bought this for my nephew and before dropping it at my sister's house I decided to flip through the pages and I have got to say I learned some very interesting things and facts about Penguins!Great book for kids and if you are an adult you can learn something fun as well!

Adorable and informative book for my 5 year-old penguin-loving girl!

I was looking for a book for my Grandson that would be of interest to him as a beginning reader. He loved the movie "Happy Feet" and was wanting more information on penguins. This was great! He loved the book, was motivated to read it himself, and gave him good information he could understand.

Perfect book to learn about the life cycle of a penguin.

This book gave the details craved by my grandaughter whose kindergarten class was studying penguins. Rather than just viewing the animals as cute, this book made science fun and intriguing for children with inquisitive minds who don't just stop at questions such as, "How tall are they?" and "What color are they?". I would highly recommend this book for primary grade children who keep asking, "Why?.

Cute book for little ones to learn about penguin family

Nicely illustrated and easy to understand. Our granddaughter liked it so much, that she used a lot of information from the book for her class ‘share-and-tell’.

An excellent book!! Thanks to the author and illustrator!! The story is very informative and you can't get tired of looking at the outstanding artwork of Helen Davie which takes you right into the the Antarctic environment. The story around the birth and growing up of a penguin chick is heartwarming. We learned about how the father is caring for the egg and chick for months without any chance to eat, about their social live, how they keep warm, what they eat, how they move and I even learned that the parents sing to each other. We learn about the different looks and activities of the youngster while he grows up and at the end of the book there are pictures and descriptions of a number of other kinds of penguins. Brilliant!
