do you need a power outlet with this product?

The power is a small DC wall wart plugin that has about a 6' of cable then a connector that is about 3/8" then the alarm has about a foot of cable that connects into this.

can you have multiple of these working on a single system? i use the 2gig system

I have 2 and they work fine. The limitation on how many you can use together only comes from the system with which you pair these sirens/strobes.

does it work with simon xt?

yes the fortrezz product will work with your simon xt system

can it be used outdoors?

Probably not useless it specially states for outdoor use. The electronics will not withstand the moisture and it will eventually fail much sooner than if it was indoors.
