Grouptronics GTDVD-181 Compact Multi Region DVD Player & Karaoke Player with USB, HDMI & Scart Output - Easy Setup

This is a compact, neat and stylish little machine. It is very simple to set-up, and it does the job perfectly. I have tested it with both region 1 and region 2 dvds and it plays both well. For the price, it's a bargain!

This really is a good value product. It's cheap, simple and functional. Makes a little noise when it's what I call idling, but really is a very good little player. I say little because it's compact, fits very neatly almost anywhere. Very easy to use and has all the functions any reasonable person could want. Yes it plays all the regions of dvds that I have. It's not the Rolls Royce of players but at this price it is exceedingly good value. Oh and last but not least, great service from these "monkeys" (see sellers name) speedy delivery and tracking so good that you can watch the delivery guy drive round your town, down your street and meet him/her at the door before they even knock!

I bought this model mainly for the ability to play multi-region discs, as well as both PAL and NTSC. DVD players are easily available at a much cheaper price, but not many do other countries as well as region 2 / UK. It's nice and compact, not a full width, so may not fit into a full stack of units, but the selling point for me was the blue light at the front - I'm easily satisfied! As others have said, the buttons on the remote are tiny and it is hard to read the labels to see what each one does. Likewise, the buttons on the unit itself are hard to see what they do - but once you have memorised them it is pretty straightforward. Having tested it, this DVD player does indeed play both PAL and NTSC discs, and multiple regions. However, the one main con for me is the remote control uses the same frequencies as other remotes, so every time I pressed a button on the DVD remote my projector would flash up an error message! The main pro for me would be a volume control on the DVD remote; many DVD players do not have this and it is very useful to not have to scramble for the TV/projector remote just to change the volume. If you want to play DVD's from other regions then this is good, otherwise it's not as cheap as other options.

Simple to set up and if you can work a remote, then you can set it up easily. Good picture and sound on all reguion discs without trouble. The basic instructions are easy to follow, but sadly no instructions on the menu set up. I went into menu and you can change sound, picture, regions, etc but without any instructions I did not know if I had chosen stereo/mono, the right colour/signal and so on. However despite my concerns it all seems to work well and the quality so far is very good. Worth the money. I can recommend it. (hope you understand the menu better than me!!)

Excellent compact DVD player easy to set up very good picture quality even if you use scart to scart ,multi regional straight from the box, remote is a bit small but it works perfectly, a previous reviewer claimed that there is no search buttons this reviewer needs a eye test the search buttons are on the bottom left on the remote, very easy to use and very good value, if l get my refund for the first one l ordered that Amazon managed to lose , Very happy with this product.

I bought this because I had several Region 1 DVDs that I wanted to play. The product arrived super quick and was so easy to set up and install. It does feel a little flimsy, the remote control is very small and sometimes with certain DVDs when you first install them it sounds like a plane taking off but that disappears after a few moments and it doesn't affect viewing at all. No switching between regions for the DVDs, it plays them automatically and for the price it's amazing. Couldn't be happier. Thanks.

I was looking for an easy to use, straightforward DVD player that was reasonably priced, to go with the TV in the conservatory, and this player fits the bill perfectly. It was a doddle to set up, excellent picture quality and terrific value for money. The player was delivered less than 24 hours after I placed the order and it was well packaged, you can't say fairer than that. I am very pleased with my purchase and wouldn't hesitate to recommend both the product and the seller, who contacted me shortly after delivery to offer support in the unlikely event that I had problems with the setup or the unit itself. I would happily buy again from 3wisemonkeys.

This is the second purchase of this model of DVD player. The first was as a cheap, take on holiday player. The first purchase worked well until the noise from it increased and it stopped reading any discs whatsoever. Those it did try to read are now unplayable on any player. I put this overall degradation down to wear and tear from taking it to Vienna several times and it being in my hold luggage. I have had this second purchase for just over 3 months now and the experience is very different. The quality is appalling with the player seeming much more flimsy as is the remote control. Picture quality is worse than before. But what infuriates me the most is the player while on standby will randomly switch itself on and off, sometimes even opening the drawer when doing so. When playing a disc it will randomly flash up 'Invalid Key' on the screen, pause the playback before occasionally restarting automatically though most of the time I have to press play on the remote. The drawer will open and sometimes automatically close before resuming playback. Worst case scenario, I get 'Invalid Key', 'Pre stop', 'Stop', then the drawer automatically opens before sometimes closing and starting the disc right from the beginning rather than resuming from where it was. That said, occasionally it will work as it should with no problems. Would I recommend this player? Based on both my first and especially second experience, I would definitely not recommend it. Yes, it's easy to use with a very basic interface and you can't expect too much for the price, but for my experience to have two players suffer faults like these is unacceptable. In light of this I will not be purchasing another Grouptronics product.

Nach der Bestellung dachte ich noch, ist das richtig was ich da bestellt habe? Als ich dann das Gerät auspackte u. in meine HIFI - Anlage 5.1 einbaute u. dann das Klangvolumen zu hören bekam, war sofort begeistert. Bei diesen Preis ! diese Wiedergabequalität! Es war absolut die richtige Entscheidung. Wer allerdings die gängisten Begriffe - Bezeichnungen u. kein Englisch versteht, hat Probleme, da es keine Bedienungsanleitung in " Deutsch" gibt. Auch im Internet nicht möglich. Gruß Gerd

C'est un produit British avec une prise anglaise. Le descriptif en français ne le dit pas clairement. It's is a British DVD-Player with fix-British-plug : take care if you are French ...as I am.
