Will this work for a trombone?

I don't believe that it will fit a tenor or bass trombone. This mute is designed primarily for trumpets and measures 4 7/8" in diameter. Measure the diameter of your trombone bell and that should give you a better idea. Soprano trombone bells are comparable to trumpet bells. Hope that was helpful.

Is it have the stamp on the mute as in the picture? Mine did not.

My mute does have an oval "Mutec" stamp on the side and also reads "Chicago Style Trumpet Plunger," I hope this helps.
