Seems to work though it makes mistakes. Also, it has Cantonese and Chinese, but not Mandarin, which is the common language across China. It doesn't even have Mandarin in the online database. This is a very strange Omission. It's also weird that this item didn't come with any sort of case. Not even a cheap plastic one.

You can see your words on the screen which is helpful too. It is lightweight without feeling cheap and tucks away into a pocket easily. I can see him getting a lot of use out of it.
