The texture is smooth and easy to work into the beard without feeling greasy or heavy. It softens things up nicely and does a great job keeping the frizz under control, especially on the days when my beard wants to do its own thing. What really stood out to me is the scent. My husband has an unruly beard. Its fluffy, coarse, and feels rough. I am constantly getting him new beard products to try but he has psoriasis and sensitive skin so it's a struggle. We both agree this beard balm works better than most he's tried. After washing and conditioning his beard he puts a little balm in and combs through. It has made his beard feel so much softer and shinier, I don't mind snuggling up to it so much now. We both like the scent. It's fresh and a little musky. His beard is much calmer now. This balm does seem to help hold his beard in a decent shape without being sticky or stiff. It isn't oily or break his skin out.

Imagine a consistency between a quality skin lotion and hair conditioner. The scent is like a light sandalwood/musk/pine. I think its the perfect strength of scent. Manly and fresh but not overpowering (which is especially important when you use a product over a large area like your beard). The balm is very moisturizing. It's great at smoothing and softening the hair. It is very effective on the very first application. It leaves the beard with a soft and shiny look. Great product. I plan on purchasing more to give as gifts to all my bearded friends.

I got this for my husband. It does help maintain his beard on the days where the hair all has a mind of its own, and all the hairs are heading in different directions. No skin irritation, rashes, or adverse reactions to the beard balm. The scent is what threw us both off. I know that body chemistry mixing will make things smell different on each person, but this balm reminded him so much of his grandpa that he does struggle with it sometimes, claiming he isnt old enough to be compared to El Padre, the original. Husband tested this for me. This is an alternative to beard wax. Its more like a mousse. The container is a decent size, you do not need to use a lot of this product, a small amount goes far. Just scoop some out rub it on your hand/fingers for a few seconds and then apply to the beard. Do not need to wait for it to melt like wax, and its very easy to apply. The hold is good, easy enough to sculpt the beard after applying. I feel this is quicker and easier to use than beard wax. Once applied I did not get any itching or irritation from this product. This product works really well.
