The Lamicall Gooseneck Tablet Holder is a versatile, flexible arm mount designed for 4.7 to 10.5-inch tablets and phones. It offers 360° adjustability and a secure clamp for mounting on desks or headboards, promoting ergonomic viewing to reduce neck strain. Ideal for reading, video calls, and media consumption, it supports a wide range of devices including iPads, Galaxy Tabs, Kindles, and Nintendo Switch. A good product but does not appear that it will last
I searched the reviews of many table holders before deciding on the Lamicall tablet stand. I was looking for one to attach to the headboard and hold my iPad Air for reading and watching movies in bed. This is a simple and inexpensive solution that seems well made and works well for my purposes. It might not work with iPads or cell phones in thicker protective cases without first removing them from the case. It works however, with the thinner case I use to protect my iPad. Review update: I have reduced my rating because it appears that the tablet holder is going to break at the joint between the two sections of the gooseneck. The connector that attaches the thinner portion of the gooseneck to the thicker section is plastic. It has cracked and is getting more loose with each use. It looks like the two sections will soon separate. This is a good product that works well except for the plastic connector between the thick and thin sections of the gooseneck. An upgrade in that one part to something more durable would change my rating back to 5 stars. Second follow up review: The plastic fitting that connects the two section of the flexible arm failed after about 11 months of use. The failure would have happened much sooner if I had not used a clamp to hold the part together after the plastic fitting began cracking. As i said before, the product fit my needs and is reasonably priced. But I would be willing to pay more for an upgrade to the plastic fitting that would allow the product to last longer. PROBLEM RESOLVED I was contacted by the manufacturer LamicallDirect who refunded the cost of the original product and replaced it at no cost with a new flexible arm tablet mount. The flexible arm on the new product does not have the plastic fitting that failed in the previous model. It appears to be stronger and should not have the problem with failure. The clamp that mounts the stand and the clamp that holds the tablet have some slight improvements that improve the overall performance of the product. The tablet mount has a wider channel that allows more room for a tablet with a cover which is a nice improvement. I appreciate the concern of the company that appears concerned about customer satisfaction and delivering a quality product. I have revised my overall rating accordingly.

This thing is awesome and I love it! ...but not without shortcomings
I absolutely love this thing and use it all the time! It makes night-time browsing, watching, or reading SO much easier! I wouldn't recommend it for something that requires a lot of interaction, unless you'll be pairing it with some bluetooth device, as reaching up from bed will quickly tire your arms. The contraption does have some shortcomings, but for the most part they're fundamental issues of engineering something like this. I think the one thing that isn't, is the fact that they use a plastic screw-handle at the base, that according to many reviews is far too easily breakable, and I believe that (though I have not yet broken mine). If you take care not to over-tighten this part, I believe it can live on for a reasonable amount of time, but this is certainly the weakest aspect of the device. I imagine it was done to help keep the price at a reasonable level, especially considering how much metal must already be in it. But personally I'd pay the few bucks more for a sturdier, metal clasp at the base. Another common gripe about this device is that it will constantly slip downward from what you set it to. It's certainly easy to configure it in a way that this happens; that's not a fault of the device, but of the general problem of what you're trying to get it do (I imagine a $200+ device might solve it, but nothing this straight-forward of a solution). If you think of it like an engineer (or simply heed the advice of the accompanying paper), you'll twist it into a bit of an S shape to improve the stability of the form, or a spiral if you've the space. Yes, it'll still slip slightly at first, and yes that uses up some of the available reach, but it's a simple problem of gravity vs torque, and there's no way around the necessity. Yet another common review complaint is that the neck itself may break. Presumably yes, if you continually twist in a single direction, or constantly twist and untwist it, it will break down fairly quickly - after all, it's just a bundle of twisty metal threads, yes? For my part, I try to ensure as long a lifespan as possible by minimizing how often I reform the neck, leaving it in the shape it's in when I remove it so that I don't have to twist it back again the next time; and by first untwisting/bending it back to fully straight before reforming to a new shape. I imagine this is harder to avoid if you take it traveling a lot, however. With all these potential shortcomings, why is this still a five-star review? Because it just does such a great job of what it's made for! It's incredibly satisfying to use, and does exactly what I needed it for! And yes, perhaps it may break after half a year or something. Perhaps even only a quarter-year if I'm as unlucky as some of the other reviewers (though I do anticipate that the techniques above will save me from it being that soon, at least!). But so what? At this price?! I'd gladly consider a $5-10/mo "rental fee" for such a convenient (and now quite indispensable) device, so anything I get beyond a few months is bonus as far as I'm concerned. So if it breaks I'll just buy another one (in fact I may buy a spare in advance just in case). So now you know: yes, the bad reviews are for the most part correct. AND all the good reviews too. It's the best tool for the job (AFAIC), but it might possibly break. So what? It's cheap. And still totally worth it. That's my 2 cents!

Product Update!
Giving this product 4 stars but for a specific reason. It worked great at first. However, I went to adjust it last week (after only a few uses) and it just fell apart. Pieces went flying. I reached out to Lamicall and they VERY QUICKLY emailed me and offered to ship the newer version for free to my home. I just received it and it seems much sturdier. Fingers crossed!

Good stand … unfortunate fatigue failure
The tablet stand served the function up, not only holding my small iPhone 13 mini, but also holding my iPad. I really appreciated that it could hold both. I found that the clamp was wide enough to fit many surfaces so that I could use it while sitting at the table or I could use it in the bed or I could use it in a chair. That flexibility was much appreciated. I found the metal rod to be stiff enough so that the vibration in the movement was not too much. It allowed me to put it in different positions successfully. I use this about once a week for the last six months and am fairly gentle with my equipment. Unfortunately, the metal flexible rod that connects to the phone and tablet attachment has broken. This seems to be a fatigue failure to me. Shifting the position of the phone back-and-forth has worn out the metal and caused it to break. I am confident that my shifting the physician on the phone was not very frequent. So this is a problem. The unit is no longer something that I can use. I have taken a look to see if there is any anyway in which I can repair this. I have not been able to come up with a successful solution. I have now reached out to the company in hope that a satisfactory answer and solution can be found. I do not wish to throw away something after only six months.

I wanted a holder for watching my tablet in bed and this works great. I will note that the clamp keeps sliding forward due to my rounded headboard (see picture) but that's no fault of the product-- it's meant to clamp on a flat surface. It still very much works. It holds my Acer One 10" tablet with no problem. The arm is stiff so it's a bit of a pain to manouver it but it's important that it is because once you find the angle you want, it stays in place. It was super easy to install and I don't find it "wobbles" much when I tap the screen.

Got this tablet holder for my kindle, works perfectly. It also hold my phone, iPad, and Nintendo switch perfectly! You can easily adjust the angle, and whether your device is on landscape, or portrait mode! So happy with this purchase.

The only thing to be sure of that the clamp fits the width of the table or desk. The space I had in mind to use this, it was too wide and the clamp didn’t fit. Aside from that, it a superior quality.

I previously owned a similar product, it was weak and unstable. After switching from a iPad mini to iPad Pro, I decided to purchase a more robust support. I was looking for something strong and stable. I researched and compared a lot of models and end up with this one. The high price was a concern initially, but I can say now that it totally worth it. This thing is built to last, much better investment than a cheap 20$ support that you'll replace a few times and the risk of damaging your device. Highly recommended.
