Amazing - Saves My Phone Regularly
I'm the idiot who's constantly dropping his phone ALL THE TIME. So much so that I began to think phones were supposed to have spiderweb cracks on the screen. This product stopped all that. I saw a standing woman at a bus stop drop her phone directly onto the concrete and was stunned when she picked it up - unharmed. I asked her where she got her case and she told me amazon and even showed me a picture from her order. So I got it. And being the idiot I am, and right after installation, I accidentally dropped my new phone, with case, onto my concrete pool deck where it just BOUNCED with NO DAMAGE to the screen. OMG! The case is also listed as waterproof, so being the moron I am, as I pick up the phone totally shocked that the screen was undamaged and turned around to show my friend, I slipped off the edge of the pool deck and into the pool - phone, clothes, wallet and all. While I was soaked and my wallet took a hair dryer to repair, my phone floated calmly across the pool and remained dry as advertised! Other good things: the case membrane itself doesn't interefere with the touch screen (and keeps scratches off the screen as well). And the two plug covers at the bottom of the case are durable and haven't even come close to showing signs they might be breaking off after months of use. And it's easy to plug in headphones or a charging cord. And the buttons on the outside of the case lined up perfectly with my phone. The case makes the phone a little uncomfortable to hold as it adds some width, but I'll trade a little discomfort for a cracked screen any day. And after a while you just don't notice it. And as it turns out, the rubber case gives you a better grip when your hands are slippery (thank goodness). What a great freaking product!

Overall, a really good case
The case is designed well with only three issues that I found. One was opening the port covers, two was accessing icons on the phones screen at the extreme top and bottom due to phone's screen curvature, and finally, because the case screen is a plastic type material, I have already gotten several small scratches on it and this could become problematic in a few months. Not sure if a lot of scratches would reduce readability long term. I don't believe it will effect usability, but rather only readability. The two port covers on the bottom are somewhat difficult to get open without having good fingernails or a small screwdriver. As you can see in the closeup of the port cover I opened, the small raised edge is virtually impossible to grab due to its size. I tested the case underwater for 30 minutes, and then opened and closed the port 30+ times and retested. I would give it a 10 out of 10 in this area. Additionally the actual material that the case was made of has just enough rubber in it to make it flexible, but it maintains a high enough plasticity level that it slides in and out of my pocket very easily unlike others I tested which the rubber material was soft and very almost sticky and would fight me and drag stuff out of my pocket with it. The issues I have with the top and bottom of the screen is in accessing icons at the extreme top and bottom where indicated in the picture. Because the screen on the S8 curves down in these areas, you have to sometimes press and hold and then drag down because it appears that screen to case contact is marginally less at these areas as opposed to the other 95% or so of the screen. The other issue is that because the screen is plastic, I have already scratched it several times. I don't believe this will effect usability of the phone in the future, but perhaps effect readability many months down the road. These issues are relatively minor and overall, I really do like the case a lot. Hopefully the manufacturer will address these issues in future releases of the case as barring the few really minor issues "Its a really GOOD case", and one that I would buy again.

Very sturdy, occlusive but bad for fingerprint
Update a couple of years later; So I did return this case and went with another less occlusive, less bulky and thus less protective case. Now I regret not sticking with this less convenient but more protective case since my old but still functional S8 has a couple minor cracks in its screen and the back plate is completely shattered. So I just bought this case again and put it on my ole' S8. Better late than never, I guess. This case still suffers from the same drawbacks as before but Im willing to put up with them to get a little more use out of my S8. I did find that this case DOES allow wireless charging IF you use the right wireless charger and position the phone on it just right. Using the fingerprint reader remains a huge issue. Why Samsung thought any smart phone should have a glass backplate is beyond me. Just one more thing on a phone to worry about breaking and its gonna be covered by a case in most instances anyway! This case is great possibly for vacations on the water or people who work in severely dust/dirt contaminated areas but for every day use it's not very good at all. Scanning your fingerprint successfully takes multiple attempts. Sometimes many multiple attempts and that is AFTER I deleted my old fingerprint record and made a new one with this case on the phone. I ended up locking myself out of my bank app trying to get my fingerprint recognized through this case. Also, people on the other end of a call are now frequently telling me that I'm not coming through clearly or that I'm breaking up. I now have to almost yell to make sure that I'm heard the 1st time around. None of this ever happened before the day that I applied this case. Furthermore, I can no longer charge my phone wirelessly. I use to get one beep to indicate that the phone was correctly aligned and charging on its wireless charger and that was all. Now a second beep immediately follows the 1st and no charging happens. So dont believe the add for this case when it says that you can charge through the case. So anyway, if you work, live or play in dirty, wet or hazardous areas, this case might be worth the trade offs I mentioned. For the rest of us, this case is far more of a hassle than it's worth. I'm going to return mine and try something else.

Great case to protect your phone!
This is the second one of these cases that I've purchased. The first one lasted about 3 years. I think that the first case only broke because I dropped it and it hit something on the edge that broke the buttons on the side. I've dropped this case 100's of times and the phone and case where fine. But when the case hits the side, right on the buttons it was just too much pressure and broke the case button, not the phone! So I just wanted the same great protection and purchased the same thing again. Thanks for a great product/ Case like this one!

Fantastic first impression.
Have only had for a day, but initial impression is so good, I wanted to post. Much better than my last waterproof case, as far as ease of button manipulation and sound quality goes. Screen sensitivity is excellent. Call clarity and voice-to-text are great, even with phone a couple of feet away from my face. Speaker quality also very good. Installation was easy, just follow directions. Waterproof test (without phone inside) passed. Haven't dropped it yet, and not going to do so on purpose, as my screen is already cracked from drop while in a different, minimally protective (but very pretty) case. (Why do these sturdy cases have to be so fugly?!) Feel of case is fine, wasn't expecting buttery leather. I have very small hands, and though the case definately bulks up my slim S8, and prevents one-handed operation, the added bulk isn't unwieldy. Wrist lanyard will be great for all the shots I'll be taking over cliffs, buildings, boats, chairlifts, etc.. If I need a new case before I replace my phone, I hope this one will still be available. If the case fails me somehow on my next adventure, I'll update. Oh, ONLY drawback so far is that my after market charger cord did not fit in the puka. So, I shaved off much of the cord's metal casing with a dremel...girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

Seems to work okay, but basic functionality is clunky
I had a jaity case on my s8 for years that I bought on amazon that was a great, cheap alternative to the lifeproof cases. When I broke the button on accident and needed to replace it, I was sad that it was currently unavailable. After shopping around, this seemed to be the most comparable case on amazon with decent reviews, so I gave it a try. I will say that it does protect my phone as I have dropped it a few times in the month since I've had it and so far so good. I've also not had any complaints about sounding muffled during calls as other reviewers have mentioned...though to be fair, I don't make tons of long phone calls. My complaints are the ways that day-to-day functionality is impeded by this case. For example, the buttons require a lot of force to press, at least compared to my old jaity case, making waking up/putting the phone to sleep, adjusting volume, and using the power+volume down to take a quick screenshot very annoying. The bigger issue though is that the swipe-down menu at the top of the screen takes many tries for me to press hard enough and at the right angle to get it to register through the case to my phone. I don't know if it's the thickness of the plastic or the angle between that upper corner of the case and the curved edge of the s8 screen, but this is really frustrating because that is the main way to control things like screen brightness, battery, and is the way you access notifications. If you can put up with those functionality annoyances, it seems to be a decent case for the price. I have also only had it for a month, so maybe the buttons will wear in with time and not be so hard to push, at least. It could also be that my hands just need to re-learn this case and exactly how hard/where to press to get the swipe down menu to work seamlessly. Time will tell. These were just the things I noticed immediately and was disappointed about when I first started using the case, so I want to put it out there to prepare anyone else out there for those possibilities. Update: I still have this case over a year later. The buttons still require a great deal of pressure to use and the screen scratches very easily. There are so many scratches from the top of the case to 1/3 of the way down due to how hard I have to swipe to get the swipe down menu to pup up and see my notifications. It's sometimes hard to read what's on the screen because there are so many scratches from even the tiniest rubbing up against something. Very annoying. It has kept my phone alive through many, many hard falls though, so it is durable at least.

Great product, surprisingly pleased!
I wasn't expecting much for the price but I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality and design. The fingerprint reader may actually work better in the case, it's light and easy to hold, doesn't require a screen protector and actually forms around the curves a bit like yoga pants. My only complaint is it makes it a bit hard to pull down the notification bar on top, I had to change it to pull anywhere on homescreen. The durability seems good so far but I haven't had it long. It's made from a slightly textured plastic not the rubber feeling stuff and does work with wireless charging. Update May 29, 2020: So since I bought this case I've used my phone in the rain, answered calls in the shower, dropped it on concrete several times from 5 plus feet and one my pitbulls tried to eat it. Other than a few teeth marks on the side it looks brand new! The fingerprint scanner still works and the screen isn't all scratched up. I'm impressed.

Chunky but affordable
Its a little too big, and the charging port hole is too small. It pretty much does what it says on the box. Life proof case is better but costs 3 times as much.

Great product, great protection
The best protection, should have been a trojan brand product. Tested in the ocean (salt water) while playing music n taking pics. Waterproofing yet allows sound through for music. In a conversation I have mixed reviews for sound quality in hearing me from people I speak with. If you use headphones, problem solved

Great Product
I'm a Civil Construction Foreman and keep my phone which I use often for work in my vest pocket and my number one issue has always been sand getting under the case and scratching my phone. My phone has been in an Otter Box since day one whech is an awesome case for drops but not sand and dust. My phone looks like its 50 years old all scratched along the edges and there was nothing I could do about it. I finally decided to try a waterproof case because if it can stop water it can stop sand but I always heard you can't hear the ringer through them or the microphone.. with this case it is not true.. for $20 it is honestly comparable to a life proof or punkcase which sell for 4-5x the money. The front screen protector is tight to screen there's no air gap or clicking sound when you type its rugged and very nice looking.. when I finally decide to upgrade to a newer Samsung I will be buying this case. Great Product.

Great alternative to LifeProof
I didn't want to spend the money on a LifeProof case, so here I am. I must say that this case is an excellent alternative, and in some ways it is better than LifeProof. I purchased this case for a Samsung Galaxy S8+. The built in screen protector is much better than LifeProof in my humble opinion. It fits closer to the screen and it's difficult to tell that it's there at all. A+ on that front. The case is a little bit larger than LifeProof, but I'm not complaining. It's probably half a centimeter wider and a tiny bit thicker. The fingerprint reader is pretty good. Because of the case's extra thickness, it took me a little while to get used to how the fingerprint reader is recessed into the case. However, now that I'm used to it I don't notice a difference in the time it takes to unlock my phone. The glass/durable plastic used to cover the rear camera is top-notch. I mean seriously, LifeProof has a weak plastic over the rear camera lens which makes it easy to get scratched. I really like how clear my pictures are turning out now. Like many others, I haven't tried the waterproofing or examined the insides for dust residue. However, from the looks of it this thing is sealed quite well. The I/O covers used to plug the headphone jack and charging port are super tight. Also, the headphone jack doesn't need an adapter! This might be my favorite part, but some people might hate it. LifeProof uses an adapter there so your phone is still watertight while you have your headphones plugged in - this one doesn't. Still, I like this because I don't want to carry an adapter all over the place. The buttons are nice and clicky. They don't feel mushy like other cases. The look of the case is sleek too. It has a slim feel despite its bulk. This is a rugged case, so don't expect it to be slim. I like the look and I think anyone who digs the rugged look will like it too. Overall I feel like I've purchased a premium phone case at half the price.
