I had mixed feelings about this one. The concept is solid: a discreet little hidden storage container with a combination lock and included mounting hardware. It does exactly what it claims to do and provides enough room for cash, cards, keys, jewelry, medication, or other small valuables. I also appreciated not having to keep up with a physical key. That said, the overall construction feels a bit janky. Nothing was outright broken, but it lacks the sturdy, confidence-inspiring feel I've seen in similar products. The lock works, the hardware is included, and installation is fairly straightforward, but it definitely feels more budget-friendly than premium. For the price, it's not terrible. If you're looking for a simple hidden storage option and keeping expectations realistic, it gets the job done. However, I've seen better-built versions with smoother mechanisms and a more substantial feel. In the end, it serves its purpose, but it isn't something I'd rush out to repurchase. Three stars feels fair: functional, reasonably discreet, but not particularly impressive. I gave it four for the hardware included 🫶🌟

This is just a plastic box that you bolt to something and it has plastic lid that has a locking mechanism. I don't think anybody should expect To get a highly-secure product for $13. So in one sense I think you're definitely getting what you're paying for. So when the ad talks about highly secure, or storing real valuables in there, then it's just empty fluff. While we're talking about the price, I think they're probably charging too much for what you get. It's just a plastic housing/cup and a lid with a locking mechanism on it. I think a fair price for it might be 6 or $7, IMO. This is not secure in two ways: 1. The lid bends pretty easily, the top half, so any flathead screwdriver will get in easily. Shoot, even a decent nail file could probably pry it up enough. And just now I used the tip of a butter knife to pry the top of the lid up enough to get in. 2. The back is how it would be mounted to a wall or furniture, and that's also thinnish plastic. So it could easily be kicked off and taken away. Then just throw it down on the ground and I know the lid would pop off. I think there's a decent chance that a strong person could even just pull it off the wall (causing the back of the unit to break away from the mounting screws). So, it's not good for securing things against real theft, like the fancy watch in the photo. But if you had things that just needed light security, then it might be handy. The locking mechanism does take up some of that space. A couple of lighters would fit in it. Most sets of keys would fit in it. There are definitely some watches that would not fit. The locking mechanism takes up some of the interior space. I have a that has buttons on it and the key flips out for one of those fancy model cars like a Land Rover. That did fit behind the locking mechanism, but only just barely. For anything larger, you would have to make sure it was positioned on the top part where the locking mechanism was not taking up space. So it's a pretty small compartment. The photos that show the base kind of flaring out, those are not correct. It tapers in. Note: because of its size, I thought about mounting it in a hard to reach area, out of sight. But the problem with that is that you need to see the number dials as you input the combination. Some good attributes are that the dial numbers seem to move easily and it was very easy to set a new combination. One could probably figure it out even without the included instructions.

It has a solid feel in your hands and doesn’t feel cheap, but it’s not designed to withstand serious force. With enough effort and basic tools, it could likely be pried open. Similarly, like most 4-digit code locks, it could technically be guessed over time with enough patience. So I would definitely view this more as a deterrent and privacy solution rather than a true high-security safe. Where it really shines is in concealment and convenience. Because it’s small, round, and unobtrusive, it’s very easy to hide in plain sight or mount somewhere discreet, which actually adds more real-world security than the lock alone. The fact that it comes with the necessary mounting and hiding accessories makes it even more practical right out of the box. Great quality for value. You’re getting a functional, easy-to-use, and cleverly designed stash safe that does exactly what it claims to do. It’s ideal for keeping small personal items out of casual reach or view, especially in shared spaces. As long as you understand it’s meant for light security and smart hiding rather than heavy-duty protection, it’s a worthwhile little safe to have on hand.

Wow, I wasn't expecting a "safe" to be this cheap. It is nothing more than thin plastic that most people can crack open with their hands. No tools required. It's very small, but it can hold some cash in case you needed to hide it, but again, it's not very secure. If this were advertised solely as a lock box as opposed to a "safe", it would be more accurate and warrant a better rating.

The whole pitch on these is wrong, which is why people get let down. A diversion box isn't trying to win a fight with a thief. The point is the thief never finds it because they don't know to look. A real safe sits out in the open and dares you to break in. A diversion box hides somewhere boring and stays invisible. Two different products. This is the second kind, even though the listing keeps saying "safe." Once you flip that around, the complaints fade. Yeah, the plastic is thin. Yeah, you could pry it with a butter knife. None of that hurts you if it's screwed under a shelf, in the back of a closet, behind a dresser, or stuffed in the bottom of a fake plant pot. Whoever's robbing your house never sees it. The combination is easy to set. Flip a tab inside the lid, dial your four digits, flip it back. That long skinny bolt in the box is for hiding it inside something else, like a fake plant or a hollow book. You drill a hole, drop the bolt through, put the nut on the other side. One fastener, nothing showing on top. The three regular screw holes are for mounting it flat to a wall or shelf instead. 5 stars if you get what it is. 2 stars if you actually wanted a real safe.
